Santos might have had some chances earlier when he was more explosive, but now I don’t think he has any chances. Ankalaev has good enough footwork to undo his serial combinations which are more side punches that leave a lot of room for counter, and we know that Ankalaev has great counterpunching. Cutelaba vs Ankalaev is a realistic view of how aggressive and straight-line attackers against Ankalaev pass, even though Santos is much better than Cutelaba, I think that if you come in with the same game plan, you will get it quite easily. Since he injured both knees, Santos is no longer what he used to be, time has simply passed. Ankalaev should use lead hand control, his side to side footwork, feinte to pull him on the counterpunch, front kicks, if he manages to put him with his back in the cage, duck under the blow and look for a double leg or duck under and try to take the back. Santos is too tough to finish it but I believe in Ankalaev’s dominant decision.

Magomes Ankalaev via DEC

I don't think Tafon is bad, I think he's honestly quite the opposite, I think he's biggest problem is that he green, He has a lot of potential , but only having 7 pro fight experience is a real disadvantage. I pick and bet against him against Park for that very reason, But in a few years Tafon will be something, UFC sign him with 3 fight for a reason

@Duck Tafon is basically just the B-side of Kennedy Nzechukwu. He's the same fighter with less forward pressure, less volume, and worse TDD. Truly a god-awful fighter who is going nowhere in UFC.

He might win his next bout but I wouldn't bet on it.

@ayylmao

Not trying to hate but how many times have you repeated your same stance on different fights/fighters in this thread? I love the back and forth don't get me wrong but come on - we get it, you're high on Jones, you think Basharat has fought awful competition and you think Silva has a good chance against Poatan.

Azamat v Tafon, 2 of the most solid fighters in the division, my favorite fight on the prelims

Predictions: 11 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 625 Points   |   Tied for 761st

If Tafon uses some good footwork and also if he can take the left hand by the cold-blooded murderer Murzakanov, it will probably be fight of the night. Both are so wellrounded, and so dangerous on the feet. I doubt it hits the ground unless Nchukwi gets reckless in his combinations and Azamat times a good takedown; but i highly doubt it cuz Tafon has good td defense, he's very strong in the clinch, and knows how to get back up too. The winner of this fight should be in the top 10, and maybe in title contention in a couple years

So what is Bruno Silva's gameplan going to be for this fight?  Will he stand and trade with Pereira the entire time because he will get KTFO if that happens.  Even though he destroyed Jordan Wright at the end of their fight, he still got rocked and put in trouble during some moments, Pereira has 10x the power of Jordan Wright.

I don't know that much about Bruno Silva, can he grapple?  He has no submission wins in any of his 28 fights.  He also rarely goes to decision so I'm guessing he doesn't grapple at all.   According to Sherdog he hasn't been knocked out before but on Ultimate Fighter Brazil, Vitor Miranda knocked him out in their exhibition fight so his chin can be cracked.

Pereira is just a bad mofo, I don't know if I can bet against him.
