Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 495 Points   |   Tied for 2633rd

I'm completely torn on the Craig vs Krylov fight. Every narrative on how it can go down I start thinking about i immediately come up with a counter point. It kinda seems like it's going to be a boring stalematey fight where kyrlov gets it to the Matt probably easily because Craig wants to be there too. Then Craig goes into defense mode trying to find the submissions as he does, but Kyrlov will be just good enough at to avoid any serious danger, but at the same time not allow Kyrlov to pass or get off any major ground strikes. Kinda wouldn't be surprised if it goes to decision even though the huge majority of their combined fights don't.

Thinking about getting the over 1.5 but idk. Feel like if it's a finish it will come later.

Yes krylov is live to be subbed by Craig but it's been a while since he's lost like that and he's been to decision with glover recently. And Craig's subs lately are either against someone with a very minimal ground game (Hill) or the like 3 way past their prime and out of shape looking guys like Rua and Antigulov (who is probably like 57)

Yes Craig has a suspect chin, but it's been a while since he was finished that way, and Krylov honestly doesn't look like he hits all that hard especially after he's wrestled you for a few minutes prior. He landed a good bit on Walker who is the 205 chinniness poster child, and never really looked at all hurt in that right.

No, no you misunderstood me! Or else I mistyped.

I would have picked Wood against any replacement, I think Wood is the real deal! He was my real lock of the night.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 485 Points   |   Tied for 2756th

Volkov vs. Aspinall
Tom Aspinall, TKO, R2
I personally think Aspinall is currently most athletic and technically all round fighter in HW division, something like Gane but better. Very much like Volkov was among old school HWs for a long time and as much as I have much appreciation for his skills and durability Tom is just on different level. In my opinion fight will not go the dystans and after first rather uneventful round we will see 2nd round finish either tko or sub!

Allen vs. Hooker
Dan Hooker, TKO, R2
I hope this one to be a proper public pleasing scrap, taking hangman here due to being more mature and composed under pressure like in Burns fight, although Allen can surprise and i wouldn't mind if he would.

Pimblett vs. Vargas
Paddy Pimblett, SUB, R2
To quote Adesanya "been feed a bum" easy pick, hype will go on.

Nelson vs. Sato
Gunnar Nelson, SUB, R3
Nelson due to better tested skills with high quality opponents and great ground game.

McCann vs. Carolina
Luana Carolina, DEC
Can't ever get WMMA correct so going with better names on resume.

Herbert vs. Topuria
Ilia Topuria, TKO, R1
Would never go against Georgian boys tough as nail!

Grundy vs. Amirkhani
Makwan Amirkhani, DEC
Got a feeling Amirkhani is a live dog here tested and failed against top quality opponents, i think for him its live or die type of a fight and that can bring well needed motivation, against mid roaster guy he will actually have perfect chance to prove himself and not get cut

Abdurakhimov vs. Pavlovich
Shamil Abdurakhimov, TKO, R1
On paper Pavlovich should take it although long performance gap and less experience push me towards Shamil as it is HW KO has biggest probability, hence KO 1rd.

Krylov vs. Craig
Paul Craig, SUB, R2
Slava Ukrainu! Paul has great mindset for this fight, background kickboxing will let him time and lined up takedown and finish with 2nd round sub either RNC or AB. Ceeeeemon Scotland!

Shore vs. Valiev
Jack Shore, DEC
I just like shore humble journey man with good skills, i don't think he has this wow factor to become top of division but will definitely be decent top 10 for a while.

Reed vs. McKenna
Cory McKenna, DEC
No clue about any going with a guts and power of home crowd.

Mokaev vs. Durden
Muhammad Mokaev, SUB, R2
Mokaev is Fighting out of Makhachev gym so i would expect technically trained fighter but need to wach some tape first might change later

The only problem with Arnold Allen is that he only fight once a year, you alway kind of forget who he is because he last fight is alway so long ago

But he is good, so gotta respect him, he just hard to rembeber how good he is

To be fair, 90% of the FW top 15 fights once a year if that. It’s one of the most slept on divisions in the ufc because the contenders never fight

Allen is better everywhere compared to Hooker? I have to disagree, I think Hooker is better everywhere! Except maybe the pure wrestling.

I think Krylov is a very odd fighter. Better on the feet than Craig for sure, but terrible on the bottom.

That said he is really good on top!

So I think this fight is actually straightforward. If Craig gets on top he will probably win. If it stays on the feet I think Krylov will be better. If Craig is on the bottom despite his very aggressive gaurd I think Krylov will keep him controlled and even potentially sub him. The main reason I am picking Krylov is that I think he is more likely to be able to get on top and control where the fight goes.

That said, Craig is Craig and who knows what that guy can do unexpectedly.

I'd say its a 60% Krylov 40% Craig fight.

Krylov can win by dec, sub or ko, Craig either gets the sub or he loses. Gotta take Krylov here.

@rusty yeah I agree with that. Craig is a guy who capitalizes on his opponents not having grappling knowledge. Krylov does make mistakes but he definitely knows what he’s doing on top and I agree that he will probably get the fight where he wants. He has to be careful of Craig getting his arm tho. Craig loves to pin fighters arms under his armpit like we saw with hill. He gets the arm to make you think he’s setting up and armbar, and then he throws up a triangle. He did that same trick on ankalaev and Kennedy. That’s my only worry when krylov is on top but besides that krylov should be fine. And then on the feet it’s krylov all day
