Alright folks, 

As you might know I'm Tapology Boxing editor. I know the majority of you guys are here for MMA, so was I originally. But for the last year or 2 there is a little more interest in Boxing on the site. 

So here's a place to talk boxing. 

By the sounds of it @Mikey1903 and George Best would've been a ******* riot together!

It's true. This is why I go easy on the young people on the forum. Everybody is a ******* idiot when they're young. Well anyone with a set of bollocks is, anyway.

Great press conference but Triller is sooo full of **** with their "leveling the playing field" talk if you really wanna do that make it a kickboxing match. Also mma fighters always seem to call out elite boxers but elite boxers don't seem to want the smoke of dealing with grappling (shoutouts to Amanda Serrano and Claressa Shields for being the outliers to this trend). I guarantee this card would have very different results if leg kicks were involved.

Just watched Edwards vs Mthalane, really impressed with how good of a switch hitter Sunny is but like a lot of them he lets himself get timed and hit frequent when switching stances. Hope he continues to improve. He has a fight on the New Year against Jayson Mama, never heard of him until recent, do any of you guys have an idea of how the fight will go down?

Since mixed martial artists vs boxers in boxing matches is gaining an incredibly amount of traction with all the recent freakshow events put on I thought I'd take the time to talk about the biggest mma vs boxing fight ever, Mayweather vs McGregor. I only be talking about McGregor's uppercut to perhaps make clarity about the difference in skill between professional boxers and MMA 'strikers'. In the Mayweather-McGregor fight McGregor lands what looks like a big left uppercut but due to McGregor not understanding how to sit down and rotate his hips all he does his punch from the arm. Mayweather said McGregor can't punch and I think it's the honest truth. In the end all McGregor did when he threw that uppercut was his best Elvis impression.

Agreed. As an old trainer of mine (back when I wasn't so lazy and actually trained) once said "there's punching and then there's boxing." They're two completely different skills. Most people could deliver a painful and under the right conditions, knockout punch but only people who actually know how to box can consistently deliver dangerous punches. There have been loads of times when there's been a knockout punch in boxing where it seems that punch wasn't even that hard. Those boxers often get labelled as having glass chins but what a lot of people don't appreciate is that a less powerful punch can still knock people spark out if the technique is perfect. And as these MMA fighters VS boxers fights have shown so far is that the boxers nail the technique far more consistently than their MMA counterparts. It's not so much the power of the punch but rather the movement leading up to it that does the damage. 

Yeah I remember watching that MayMac show and seeing just how badly Mcgregor vaunted deadly left hand transferred over to boxing!  Even after 5 million people (probably 10 million World wide) watched that people still can't stop comparing MMA fighters to Boxers!!!!  It's so dumb, an MMA fighter whoops a boxer in MMA, a boxer whoops an MMA fighter in Boxing! 

The leadup to MayMac was pretty unbearable as a Boxing fan. I had no idea there were so many ******** fight fans in the world until that fight happened. People screaming about how Mcgegor was bigger, how Floyd had never fought a puncher like Mcgregor ("But what if he catches him bro!?"). I was like 'What if he does? Ever heard of Maidana? Mosley?

**** was ridiculous.

About Sunny Edwards. I was really surprised and impressed that he beat Mthalane pretty clearly. He did tire a bit but for about 8 or 9 rounds Mthalane couldn't land a glove on him while getting potshotted.
I don't know much about Mama, all I know is he has a twin brother, they solely fight in the Philippines against no-one of any level. He has 1 win vs a former World Champion Ekkawit, but he was long past his best.
I fully expect Sunny to box rings around him

Hopefully Sunny gets unifications. The small weights in men's boxing actually have a lot of unifications without much of the ******** usually involved in boxing.
There's 4 separate Champions. Ukrainian Dalakian likely doesn't come out of Ukraine!  But between Edwards, Martinez and Nakatani there's some great fights to be made! All 3 guys are contrasting styles too. Edwards is the box n move guy. Martinez is a wee Mexican pyscho!!!! Nakatani is tall rangy and a great offensive fighter. I actually think Nakatani whoops them all if they do fight!
But Sunny vs Martinez would be a good one to make, especially since Martinez had a fight already against Sunnys brother Charlie. He basically battered him, but got DQd for smacking Charlie when he was down. Charlie vacated and hasn't really fought since! Sunny has openly stated that he wants revenge for his bro!  Dangerous, like I said Martinez is a Wee Pyscho bastard!!! 

@Mikey whatever happened to Danny BTW? Does he still come on the boards? He came out  with some crackers from time to time lol

It's painful to see people suggesting matchups like Usman Canelo. The level of boxing in mma is atrocious compared to actual boxing, same with a lot of grappling and muay thai in all honesty. I hope one of these stupid UFC champ vs boxing champ matchups actually happen so people will shut up after the UFC guy gets starched. 

Why is Jay Harris fighting at 108?

Why? Basically it's a last throw of the dice. Fighters love trying a new weight class after a KO defeat!!!

Not sure where it's BROADCAST? MTK cards are usually always on YouTube in the UK but that's geo blocked in the US. Sometimes ESPN+ picks up the MTK cards 

I'm exited and really want to see Lopez vs Kamboza, but don't want to support Thriller after what they did to Evander, I'm still mad at everyone involve for that fight, I just want Thriller to burn to the ground

Duck mate, you don't have to worry about supporting Triller. They defaulted on the fight because they kept moving the date and couldn't provide money In an escrow account.
Matchroom and DAZN have the rights to the fight now. Its broadcast on DAZN, nothing to do with Triller at all bud

Unless Teo comes in absolutely the worst shape he can it's going to be a very, very one sided fight.
