Alright folks,

As you might know I'm Tapology Boxing editor. I know the majority of you guys are here for MMA, so was I originally. But for the last year or 2 there is a little more interest in Boxing on the site.

So here's a place to talk boxing.

Josh, if you liked that fight then you should check out Carl Thompson vs Chris Eubank. They had 2 fights, both were great, I'd say the 1st is the best.

Here's both

Haha, thanks.
Sometimes I'm good!!
I will say the other 2 underdogs I mentioned lost!!! 1, Ruiz, lost bad, the other Smith was in a fight of the Year contender!
But I did say Gonzalez was my best underdog. I hope someone won some cash off it

I'm always happy when Mikey cashes a dog, but I'm not sure how good it is for his local community. 50 GBP$ will buy a hefty amount of cask wine in Scotland. We'll just have to hope that his next bender doesn't result in another social worker with a black eye and somebody's grandma getting scared half to death when she goes to collect eggs in the morning and finds a naked bearded man smelling strongly of shiraz asleep on the floor of the coop spooning a hen.

Jin Sasaki

No he's not a character from Tekken 2, Jin Sasaki is a 21 year old Japanese big punching crazy bastard!!!!

He fights tomorrow in Japan on a nice card. You may know that I am a HUGE fan of the Japanese boxing scene. I love the style(all out attack!!) I love the match making (no squash matches allowed!). They put on fun cards with good even match ups top to bottom. I love everything about it.

Anyway the card tomorrow is a Championship double header, the Japanese Title is quite prestigious (similar to how we Brits regard the British title) Also the OPBF (Oceania Pacific Boxing Federation) is also a good title. Many boxers who win these Titles move onto World Championships.  Anyway the card has 2 great fights Nakajima vs Kurihara is a good fight between a young undefeated prospect (Nakajima) and the former Champion big puncher(Kurihara). Don't think because Kurihara has 5 losses he's a bum, he's fought a lot of good guys, like I said Japan losses don't matter.

The match I originally made this post about before getting carried away!!! Is a great fight!!! 17-0 Andy Hiraoka, a tall lanky puncher who is out of the famous Teiken gym(Inoue, Murata and many more World Champions). He has also featured on several Top Rank ESPN cards. He is a definite talent. He faces 12-0 Jin Sasaki a 21 year old Big puncher and extremely exciting fighter!!!

I'm going to be trying to find a way to watch. It is difficult, lots of VPNS, streaming and also early hours of Tuesday morning isn't ideal!

Anyway here is Sasaki last fight, also against a fellow undefeated prospect. It's 2 rounds of

Golota vs Bowe (and his NUTS!)

Since Casual brought up Golota the other day I thought I would post this. Its from the excellent HBO Boxing Legendary Nights where they do an in depth 30/40 minutes mini doc on, as the title says, Legendary Boxing nights! There is Hagler Leonard, Lewis Tyson, Foreman Moore, Holyfield Bowe and more. They done around 15 episodes, all well worth checking out. They're all easy to find on YouTube.
Anyway, this is Bowe vs Golota.  I was reminded of just how wild Golota was!!! Biting, Headbutts and a tonne of rough stuff!!! Bowe was equally rough, as was his team, his manager once pulled a boxer over the ropes and out of the ring as he was brawling with Bowe!!! Bowe also had a big crew of guys who caused several mass brawls!!!!
This fight had a high chance to be wild, and it

Oh also the whole arena turned into a mass Brawl!!!!!  Poland vs Brownsville New York!!!!!  WILD!!!

Pryor vs Arguello

Another classic!  Aaron Pryor, despite being criminally under rated/overlooked at the time, probably the best 140lbs boxer of all time. Alexis Arguello, Hall of Famer, 3 division World Champion (at a time when there was only 2 belts), Nicaraguan legend.
2 tremendous boxers in a tremendous fight.

Oh and of course there is controversy!!!

HBO really were the pioneers and gold standard for good combat sports production. Their countdowns, documentaries, ringside commentary team, etc. were always fantastic and never missed a beat. Crazy that still so many promotions fail to deliver half of what HBO brought. They also weren't afraid to try to reach out to other continents and make stars out of the boxers there like Manny or Donaire.

Golata didn't always get dirty but if you gave it to him, even a little, he'd get real nasty in the ring and Bowe was the right personality clash to make it a complete **** show. It's was no accident the two fights played out beat for beat lmao. I firmly believe to that those two fights destroyed them, Golata nor Bowe ever fought has well afterwards and Bowe adopted a real nasty mannerism in his speech. Mikey you should see how furious Ruiz coach was getting in their fight with Golata, man got so mad the referee got security to escorted him out.

Golata always just brought a different level of excitement to his fights. Guys like McGregor could learn a thing or two about making a memorable fight.

I watched the Haye's & two Thompson fights you posted. They were a blast! Even though Hayes lost I still came out really liking and appreciating his boxing. A lot of unappreciated careers in that period, especially with how great a clash all those fights were. Rarely if ever hear them brought up outside of Eubank's eccentric personality outside the ring or Hayes on mic drama. Rarely if ever about their talent inside the ring.

Pryor the best 140LB'er of all time? Eeeeeeeeeh....I dunno. Maybe. The best version of Chavez was a really, really, really bad ************ though. I think the best version of Chavez beats the best version of Pryor more often than he loses. Chavez was substantially better than Arguello defensively. Had better power too. Chavez's mauling of Martinez remains one of the bloodiest beatdowns I've seen.

But yeah, Pryor v Arguello 1 was insane. Back in the days of fifteen rounders.

Imagine Today's heavyweights trying to fight the full fifteen. Fat pricks lol
