TBH the elevation of a venue never really enters my radar when looking into an event. To me this means that fighters with better cardio will fare better tonight but that's true of most fight cards. It just means that it might be wise to think twice about picking any fast starting fighters.

Your more holistic approach probably helps to give a bigger picture of the whole fight but I just base my picks on what I know about the fighters or if I don't know them, then I base it on their records. I'm certainly not gonna break out an elevation map! I wouldn't know what I was looking at anyway lol!

Given how unpredictable and ever changing MMA can be, it would be impossible to know everything about it. If he seriously considers himself some sort of MMA mastermind then I hope you win every week just so you keep bruising his ego lol!

Fair enough then. Given how unpredictable MMA is, anyone could out predict anyone on any given week, that's what makes it so fun to follow. Just out of curiosity, when you research fights, where do you draw the line in terms of "I don't need to consider that factor" in a fight? What's the most niche stat you consider?

That's a lot lol! As I said earlier, I just base it on my knowledge of them and their records. If neither fighter has a notable record or there's nothing to split them then I'll look at their physical stats and their gym but even then, that's about it. I do sometimes picked fighters based on which one has the better nickname though.
