Man this is an awesome matchup, two studs from top-tier gyms. Whoever wins should definitely get the next shot at the CW flyweight title once Creasey and Shanks have their fight for it

Cage Warriors 130 Recap

card was so so. it had so much potential. outside venue, in sunny san diego, right next to the water. bodog beach fight vibes for sure. (see Alvarez vs Henze

instead it was riddled with cancelled bouts, missed weights, and last minute replacements. its no surprise the main event was at catchweight which included former UFC roster member Spyke Carlyle.

prelims

escoto vs gonzalez (155lb) got off to a fast start as both fighters where more than willing to exchange. escoto got the better of gonzalez in the early rounds and was close to finishing via ground and pound after an overhead right. however, with grit and determination gonzalez survived. as the fight progressed escoto seemed to loose steem while gonzalez picked up momentum. the fight went the distance, and gonzalez won by split decision. now buddy go get that leg checked out.

barry vs benson (195lbs) this fight included kicks and more kicks. early in the first round benson connected with a heavy body kick. however, he never could close the range as barry's length was too much. as the fight progressed barry cracked benson with all kinds of kicks, until finally he ****** benson up with some crazy kung fu ****. unfortunately, benson was taken out in a stretcher. hope he is ok. buddy we all know you are tough as nails but next time try wrestling to close the distance.

wilson vs macuka (145 lbs) not much to say here fight was over in a blink of an eye. macuka threw an amateur kick and wilson ****** him up with a right hook. people if you are going throw a kick you better know what you are doing if not gravity wins every time. i mean check out jim miller's latest ko.

main card

miranda vs lynch (155lbs) lynch opens up the fight with a single leg and the fight quickly goes to the ground as miranda counters with a choke. after some back and forth, miranda quickly learns his wrestling is far superior and brings the fight to the feet. in the clench, miranda cracks lynch with a hard knee to the body. and this is the part where lynch says to himself, "yeah i dont want to be a fighter anymore". as miranda proceeds to choke him out.

wang-kim vs hernandez (135lbs) despite a disparity in height and athletic ability this fight was entertaining to watch. early on hernandez violently body slams wang-kim. "papi chulo" then attempts his best version of ground and pound but quickly finds himself in a triangle choke. its in semi deep, "thats what she said", but hernandez survives. wang then at some point attempts an arm bar. this one is in pretty deep, but papi chulo being papi chulo survives. enter the second round, wang does his best impersonation of stephen wonderboy thompson. connects here and there, until finally he cracks hernandez flush with a knee to the head. the fight goes to the ground, herb gives hernandez every opportunity but its finally too much, and calls it.

pagua vs perez (205 lbs) we find out two things in the fight promo. one perez is a new father, and two he weighed in at 210.5 lbs. apparently 15 minutes before his fight against turman some chick calls and tells him she's pregnant. but we digress. 1st round is mostly spent in the clench. Strength wise it appears neither fighter has an advantage. not much action both fighters play it safe. 2nd rd pagua shows flashes here and there but appears to be giving perez too much respect. he finally lets the hands go, and perez finds out that pagua has some hammers. the fight ends up against the fence and it appears pagua is going for the finish but inexplicably he retreats. is it the nerves, is it the pressure? what is it bro? you have some hammers believe in yourself. the round ends and both fighter remain standing. Not much action in the final round. Pagua connects with a few punches and has perez against the fence. The finish is there if he wants it but instead he retreats and plays it safe. the fight ends in a decision for Pagua and a dud for the fans.

max vs bailey (155lb) the fight starts off with max violently body slamming bailey. no finish, just some grown man humping as kevin holland calls it. max wins by decision.

carlyle vs ambrose (165lbs) carlyle comes in as a last minute replacement. not much to say spyke connects with a right hook and drops ambrose. the real story is what did spyke do to find himself in dana white's doghouse? i mean he can be annoying but he must of done something really stupid.
