Caanan is a big dude and looked pretty legit against Hooker til he gassed, also pulled off a Ninja choke in like 2 seconds in his last fight. Think he'll finish Bilharinho and score a contract.

China is one of the biggest global markets and is also a growing MMA scene so the ufc wants to tap into that market by producing the next Weili Zhang. Also being so many Chinese, if they get lots of stars it makes them much more revenue

China PI has a lot to do with it, as does Visa issues for some of the guys that were slated for this season.

Unfortunately, it seems all the Chinese fighters have been losing since Usman vs Masvidal 2. I believe all 4 of the fighters from that "W.A.R.S" promotion lost and that's also when Weili Zhang lost her belt too. On the last Contender Series, all the Chinese fighters lost and both of the Chinese fighters from the Abu Dhabi card from yesterday lost as well.

I agree. It’s the unfortunate truth but a lot of the Chinese fighters just aren’t good. That’s not a knock on them but the Chinese mma scene is not the same as regional us scene. That being said, I think zhifa shang probably has the best chance out of all the fighters on this card

Yadong is one of the few exceptions. Obviously, it’s impossible for every Chinese fighter to be bad, but you also have to realize that he, along with the other good Chinese fighters train in America where they have more resources and better training partners

For example weili now trains at fight ready. Jingliang trains at the Chinese affiliate of ATT. Song trains at TAM. Because the scene is still developing in China, they are so behind in terms of gyms, training partners, competition, etc.
