Just came across the wire. I will be attending this event and I would have preferred someone else over Maia. I can't really see them giving Bisping a title shot off of that win. That being said I find this to be an easy win for Bisping.

Ya i think Bisping will have this one in the bag he's not bad on the ground and his TDD is pretty solid.

He will no question be looking to keep this one standing though.

However i don't fully understand this fight all. With Maia is coming off a loss to Munoz and all.

Yeah I don't either, Maia has lost that grappling savant type style. I think he's neglected his ground game to much to improve other areas. Now he's good everywhere but he's not Omg holy **** on the ground anymore, or atleast he hasn't been.

@messiah ya that is how it has seemed as of late.

I think the UFC is just trying to keep Bisping busy though, and if he wins this one then he could fight the winner of the Rumble Johnson vs Vitor Belfort fight to determine the next contender after the Sonnen vs Munoz fight.

@justyn Maia is coming off a win over Jorge Santiago. The UFC loves to give Bisping fights he can win though.

Yeah Bisping should win fairly easily.. It could look like the Mayhem fight, But Maia wont gas completely like that, I think Bisping will win 30-27 lopsided decision though.

I dont like this fight. Bisping is on a pretty impressve 4 fight win streak. Give him a top guy! I would have liked to see him fight Rumble/Vitor winner. Maia has a 1 fight win streak going. Maia vs Belcher would make more sense.

I think they just want to keep him fighting and Maia is really the only top ten guy without a fight, I'm fine with this fight if he wins this then give him Belfort/Johson winner and if he wins that give him the title shot

Ever since his quick KO loss to Marquardt, Maia seems to have been more cautious or afraid to finish the fight, though, all 3 of his losses has been against Top 10 opponents, with the only time he was finished was against Marquardt.

I'm going to take Maia in this via Decision.

Bisping cruises to an easy decision.  The UFC will continue to give Bisping winnable fights.

So Demian Maia is an easy opponent now? I hope you guys said the same thing when Demian Maia was gifted that title fight.

I'm not sure who I'll pick yet.

If that had been Demian getting the first round takedown like Mayhem did, it might have been a very different story.

Im almost hoping that Maia doesn't get it to the ground because i wanna see where he's at with his striking!......but i'll still probably end up picking Bisping

I think this fight makes perfect sense from a rankings perspective. On my top ten list, Sonnen is No. 2 while Munoz is No. 5, and those two should establish the clear top contender with their fight. I also have Maia at No. 6 and Bisping at No. 7, so the fight makes sense for both guys. I win for Bisping should put him either next in line after the winner of Sonnen/Munoz or should put him into a fight with the winner of that bout for the top contender's spot. Personally, I still scored the Maia/Munoz fight for Maia, but I can see it going either way. It was a close fight.

If Maia gets this to the ground he subs Bisping easily...With that said Bisping has solid TDD and the better striking in this fight...If its standing I take Bisping via decision (we all saw a gassed Mayhem take Bisping's power!), but will likely pick Maia via sub

Maia probably has better jits than Myahm, but Mayhem is no slouch, and he couldn't get bisping where he wanted him. I could see Maia pulling guard a lot like he did against silva, but i hope he doesn't. He should be able to strike alright against bisping

i like this match-up a lot. I think Maia will be able to take it to the ground and sub him
