Just watched the dual interview of Costa and Vettori with Okamoto. I don't know if Costa was drunk, high, or is just insanely stupid. But, Brett and Marvin both asked multiple times why he can't make weight, and he just mumbles on and on about how UFC offered him the catchweight and that Marvin is the one that has to accept the fight now? He also said he won't say the reason for not being able to make weight until after the fight Saturday. So he's essentially already got a built in excuse when Marvin ****s on him. I mean he literally could not grasp the fact that he is supposed to make a certain weight by a certain time. I agree with the comments from some of y'all that he's doing it to have an advantage against Marvin's grappling, but holy ****, it was like watching an elementary school teacher try to teach the slow kid why it's not okay to eat glue. Even more confident in my pick that Vettori stops him in the 3rd or 4th.

I think part of why Costa sounds so stupid is that his English is still really poor. He just doesn't understand alot of the questions being asked, that was pretty evident if you watched the whole presser yesterday. Rather than get a translator for every one, he just spits out some BS nonsense on some of the more basic ones.

@standard_split I think you're spot on about Costa potentially hiding an injury.

Park vs. Rodrigues
Gregory Rodrigues, DEC
Close fight, I'm a fan of either guy and just about edging Rodrigues because I think he can get ahead due to his power advantage in this one. His grappling is a bit better than Park's but regardless I think this will play out on the feet for the whole 15 minutes, Park is faster but Rodrigues is good at finding his counters and moving his head off the centre line. Really not confident at all in this but I'm edging Rodrigues to win a 29-28 decision. This could end up being a split to be honest

Robocop all day!!! He's so powerful and even though Iron Turtle is a durable fighter, I truly think Rodrigues can finish him quick.

Dawson has logged 13 rounds in ufc. Multiply that by three judges gives you a total of 39 round outcomes. From those the judges have Dawson 36-3

Predictions: 11 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 665 Points   |   139th Place

Costa vs. Vettori
Marvin Vettori, TKO, R5
Marvin Vettori - Costa starts explosive. He wants a fire fight. He wants to bring the heat. He’s got alright TDD but hasn’t been tested before (not the only thing he hasn’t been tested for either no doubt). He throws bombs with every shot. He’s aggressive and in your face … … … for 2.5 rounds, then he’s ******. Marvin doesn’t throw bombs, his striking is interesting and he can lure you into traps but he ain’t knocking you out. Marvin is patient and will try to rush you without rushing himself. Marvin also times his takedowns really well and has a great top game. Marvin also has a ******* excellent gas tank. This will be Marvin’s first ever TKO win. Costa will Dada 5000 himself and the ref’s sympathy will stop him having a heart attack.

Dawson vs. Glenn
Ricky Glenn, DEC
Ricky Glenn - BIG SHOUT 2 : the guy is kind of ******** but fights really intelligently. He’s got power in his hands and decent TDD. Dawson has the takedown and the clinch. His striking isn’t as good as he thinks it is and his fight against Santos showed us that he’s better off at featherweight. Glenn could finish him. But chances are he won’t.

Clark vs. Edwards
Jessica-Rose Clark, DEC
Jessica-Rose Clark - this will be both bloody and boring, if you can imagine that. Plus it could go either way. Jessica doesn’t do well when she’s outsized and Joselyne just allows herself to get taken down at will. Clark could beat her up against the fence and deal with a few up-kicks and elbows and armbar/triangle attempts for 15 minutes, or Joselyne can hurt her on the feet for 15 minutes. Either way no one wins.

Caceres vs. Choi
Alex Caceres, DEC
Alex Caceres - Bruce Leeroy has been on an absolute tear recently. His allusiveness and speed translates really well in the small octagon surprisingly. Choi will get him a few times but Caseres’ peppering for 3 rounds will season the points nicely in his favour.

Grant vs. Trinaldo
Dwight Grant, DEC
Dwight Grant - Trinaldo is an absolute G. He’s got an incredible record and has beaten some ******* studs. Thing is : he looks ******* awful at welterweight. We’re looking at two counter strikers who are going to dance and stare at each other for 10 of the 15 minutes. Dwight might clip him with an over hand left followed by a right cross. But I trust Trinaldo’s chin enough to survive.

Negumereanu vs. Villanueva
Nick Negumereanu, TKO, R1
Nicolae Negumereanu - he hits like a truck and is very durable. Even when rocked he still comes at you like a zombie. Villanueva hasn’t seen a scorecard since 2017 and isn’t good enough to be in the UFC. Nicolae will give him his walking papers.

Park vs. Rodrigues
Gregory Rodrigues, SUB, R3
Gregory Rodriguez - this could go to a decision and is a relatively close fight, but Park only peppers you with shots, where Rodriguez blasts you into space. Rodriguez also has an excellent ground game. 2 of Park’s 4 losses have come by submission. This will be his fifth.

Jones vs. Onama
Mason Jones, TKO, R2
Mason Jones - he’s an absolute banger, always looking for the finish. Hasn’t won in the UFC yet (even though he definitely has, that NC was given out of sure sympathy to Alan Patrick for not dying in round 1). Onama might be an interesting prospect but it’s far too early for him to be in the UFC. Jones will TKO him up against the fence in either the first or second round.

Ricci vs. Oliveira
Tabatha Ricci, SUB, R1
Tabatha Ricci - she’s fit, she finishes fights and did the favours in her first bout up a weight class against Manon Fiorot (who is probably a bloke). UFC are doing her a favour in return and giving her Maria Oliveira who has absolutely no place being in the octagon at this level. I reckon a SUB in either the first or second.

Staropoli vs. Pickett
Jamie Pickett, DEC
Jamie Pickett - this is an awful fight and should be thrown into the ******* sea. It’s going the distance and Staropoli is too small for Middleweight. Pickett has a ******* horrible fighting style and Laureano is better, but Pickett has a modicum of power in his hands and a 9” reach advantage.

Worthy vs. Herbert
Jai Herbert, TKO, R2
Jai Herbert - BIG SHOUT 1 : Jai Herbert is an excellent shot reader and throw crisp straight one-twos down the barrel. Worthy has a habit of lowering his hands when he kicks. Jai will eat a kick to knock his block off (and with a chin like Worthy’s, all he has to be is accurate).

Molina vs. Da Silva
Jeff Molina, TKO, R2
Jeff Molina - can finish, the fella he’s fighting has never gone the distance. Miojo has hands and likes to take you down. Molina scrambles pretty well and is pretty allusive. He has a nice snap on his shots. Reckon a precision hook to the ear from a telegraphed shot will do it.

Souza vs. Markos
Livinha Souza, SUB, R1
Livinha Souza - Randa is going to come out of the gate swinging. Her job is clearly on the line (one problem) Souza’s stand up is pretty decent in comparison. Randa will eventually shoot, Souza will scramble and it’s armbar time.

Martinez vs. Lazishvili
Jonathan Martinez, TKO, R2
Jonathan Martinez - had a camp, does really well against wrestlers. I reckon this will be updated to a 140 CW. Very diverse striker. Lavishvili has 12-0 record, 10 of which were making their MMA debut. Total can crusher.

"Seeking that perfect prediction for bants and bragging rights (and hopefully a little extra cash)."

Negumereanu vs. Villanueva
Nick Negumereanu, TKO, R2
Both guys are kinda similar with their styles where they'll plod forward and look to box with you. The thing is I think Nick does everything better than Ike, he eats shots better, he hits harder, his striking is more accurate and precise. Both will come forward but the first person who takes a step back will probably be the one who loses and I think Ike will do that. Nick gets the finish here I think I can't see Ike eating big shots from him the entire 15 minutes

Tabatha Ricci, Submission, Round 2/3

After getting into tape one of my most confident picks. Maria is almost tailor fitted to lose to Ricci. For most of riccis tape she's on top landing shots or getting a submission and Maria is getting held down with seemingly no hope for most of rounds but most of people she fights that aren't cans. Very poor TD defense too. I think she's only -250 because of the low level experience unknown aspect. I think she looks like a -500 in this fight.

I have her ML parlayed with Rodriguez/Park Over 2.5 for +130

Paulo's juiced up wine drinking has got the fight moved to 195

I hope Marvin slaps him and then goes in for a takedown, slams him on his goofy head and then lands 7 to 12 extra punches

I agree guys Dawson really struggled against Santos. Dawson was only cruising to a 30-27 until Santos violently ended the fight by smashing his face on Dawson’s fist

@Mikey I know what you mean, Dawson hasn't ever really impressed me and his record overall belies how kind of average he is skill wise. He shouldn't be such a massive favourite here.

I'm still going to pick him because Glenn's's TDD is pretty awful, and he accepts bad positions more easily than a hungry trollop on a slow day of business. He'll probably get ground out for a UD, because Dawson is very good at playing find the sausage and has the three-round conditioning to do it.

Where was this enegery when Glenn was an underdog to J Silva ? This recency bias at it's finest because on tape Glenn has shown to have poor TDD and can be controlled for a long period of time. Carlos Diego Ferreira would have beaten Grant Dawson who was the original opponent for him, so count this as a very very winnable fight for Grant Dawson. Here's a stats for you:

Lightweights priced between -405 to -445 are 8-2 in the last 10 fights.(Grant Dawson) Lightweights priced between 340 to 300 are 0-10 in the last 10 fights.(Ricky Glenn)

Im often irritated by fighters, usually from Brazil, for example Jessica Andrade. You fight for your dreams, if you want to become a superstar internationally, you have to know english, and some of them are just like: **** it.
