Marvin Vettori, DEC
Costa has two rounds to put Vettori away. Vettori's durability should hold up then he'll slowly pick Costa apart.

Costa is ******

Predictions: 2 of 2 Winners, 1 Perfect, 140 Points   |   Tied for 3106th

Sorry but while Costa is entertaining, he’s nothing special. I’m not the kind of ****** to say “mark my words” like my preference matters, but I’m 100% certain Vettori is going to wrestle**** him to death.

Look at Costa’s resume, honestly look at it. It’s garbage. The most significant wins on his resume is the washed up remains of Hendricks, the always gunshy gatekeeper Hall, and Yoel Romero. Uriah, despite being an absolutely terrible matchup for Uriah, was still able to expose Costa’s weakness against opponents who move to his weak side, cause his entire game is to trap you against a cage, and beat the **** out of you with a lot of lead hooks to make you go towards his rear side, where you get ****** up even harder. If you simply stay calm and don’t play his game, Costa has zero answers for someone who steps to his lead side. Israel would later exploit this and Costa got picked apart as a result.

Costa’s grappling is…well, I would call it a dumpster fire, but at least dumpster fires are efficient at burning the ******* garbage. The fact he has confirmed black belt in Jiu-Jitsu is genuinely disturbing. His takedowns, the few he shoots for anyway, are technically atrocious. He doesn’t so much as lift the opponent of their legs as much as he just kinda leans his body against their pelvis and prays they fall over because of how diesel he is. He really only is able to get on top of his opponent because the opponent slips and falls on their ass. Now tell me, with all honesty, do you seriously think this bulky piece of jerky meat is going to have the flexibility to defend Marvin’s wrestling on the bottom? Cause I ******* don’t. The Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz is more likely to do a triangle choke than Costa is.

Marvin is a compete ******, but he’s beaten and fought more solid competition than just one guy like Costa has (Omari, Hermansson, Holland, Cezar) and will simply not wilt under Costa’s pressure. Marvin’s fight with Jack proves he refuses to back against the cage and will do whatever it takes to push you back instead. Marvin also has a superior gas tank, and is a much better wrestler than Costa. Also, while I’m sure Marvin is still somewhat in denial over his loss against Izzy, Costa is still desperately trying to convince the media that Israel’s exploitation of his one-trick pony fighting style wasn’t a simply technical domination, but because he got hammered. Yeah, sure buddy. I find that about as likely as him not being on PEDs, or those ****hub ads telling me my hot eighteen year old neighbor wants to **** me. If you wanna go into debt, bet the house against Vettori. This is not only an easy bet, but probably the best bet of the entire year.

Costa vs. Vettori
Marvin Vettori, DEC
Costa is very one dimensional. Pressure, body kicks to get inside, and good hip rotation hook punches and can brawl. While Marvin is very basic, he is able to do a lot more. He has better boxing, is faster, and will wrestle Costa to death. Marvin mixes up his hands and takedowns to get a one sided victory.

Park vs. Rodrigues
Jun Yong Park, DEC
Park and Gregory showed solid fundamentals last time they fought. Park has put together a 3 fight win streak with a solid jab, and good offensive wrestling. I liked Gregory’s hands against Dusko. He put together nice combos, stayed active yet pretty patient. Should be a good close fight.

Jones vs. Patrick II
Mason Jones, TKO, R1
I guess maybe I understand why this is being put together again, but we saw who the better fighter was. Mason beat the **** out of this man the first time. Why should I believe it’ll go different?

Hm. I never watched much of Phillips, but Moutinho, while he didn't perform and look as if he is the next G.O.A.T / # 1 Contender obviously, he definitely garnered a HELL of a lot of attention and some fans/eyes to see him again. I think he could've definitely been paired up with someone more solidified and featured.

This all depends on how much damage vettori can take, unless costa gets rocked then forced into submission I don't see vettori winning this.

I’ve never rated Costa, don’t understand why anyone was ever on his hype train. Vettori gets this win easily.

Jones vs. Patrick II
Mason Jones, TKO, R1
After the first fight I can’t believe even 4% are picking Alan Patrick, this should be 100% Jones.

Caceres vs. Choi
Seung Woo Choi, TKO, R2
This is one of the easiest predictions I’ve ever made.

Costa vs. Vettori
Marvin Vettori, DEC
Vettori should look to wrestle, making the shots of Costa less heavy and less frequent. I think we will see a tired Costa with very little output later in the fight, allowing Vettori to do whatever he wants really - I think a late submission or a decision for the Italian. I would have much preferred the originally-intended-Costa-Cannonier main event over this one; I think Vettori will look to play it safe - Holland pieced him up so Costa could too in my opinion.
