Prediction Comments
Predictions: 8 of 8 Winners, 4 Perfect, 530 Points | Tied for 6th with 2 others
Dmytro Mytrofanov, DEC
A few years ago I had high hopes for Mytrofanov. He's part of the K2 Ukraine team (Usyk, Gvodzyk, and many other contenders) He's not been bad. I just expected him to be a little bit further along.
Uzun vs. Kozynets
Heorhii Kozynets, DEC
2 guys are 2-0. Of course 100% favour 1! Makes perfect sense! Haha Kozynets for the "huge Upset"
Baysangurov vs. Gratii
Khuseyn Baysangurov, DEC
Man, I feel for guys like Gratii. He's always the opponent brought in to lose and whenever he does get an upset win. How does he get rewarded? Maybe give him a couple favorable match ups? Nah, just step up his competition 10 fold!!!! It's a hard game for these guys man. I'm hoping he at least doesn't leave here with a concussion!

I appreciate your insights and little nuggets of info on some of the lesser known talents!
So you think Baby Face Babatunde has a shot at getting the upset KO?

@Mikey1903
Most likely, of course, Dmitry Mitrofanov will win in terms of points. His team calculated all the risks and he is a clear favorite in bookmakers, for a Nigerian +750.Dmitry Mitrofanov has incomparably more experience (in amateurs), and boxing knowledge and skills, was a sparring partner of famous fighters.
Rilliwan Ayodele Babatunde |
"Back in early 2015, very few people, if any, saw these coming and at the speed they have come. Baby Face, then a gangly 18-year-old, was training to be a barber somewhere in the Egbeda area of Lagos. He had been a keen boxer, taking part in amateur punch-ups in his area.Then came a transition. In February 2015, GOtv, sponsors of GOtv Boxing Night launched the GOtv Boxing NextGen Search, an initiative conceived to find amateur boxers promising enough to be absorbed into the professional ranks and developed under the guidance of some of the country’s finest boxing coaches.The inaugural edition of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search attracted over a 100 boxers from as far as Abuja. Among them was Baby Face. At the Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame Gym in Lagos, where GOtv Boxing NextGen Search held, young boxers turned up with hope on their faces, hoping to impress the selectors.Over three days, the selectors, including big names such as Joe Mensah, Obisia Nwankpa, and Olympian Jerry Okorodudu, assessed the young boxers spar and made a list of those they thought were ready to take the next step. Baby Face, however, was not on the list. As he made to leave the venue, said a slightly older man who accompanied him, he was called back by an observer in the place, who persuaded the coaches to include him...The observer saw what the selectors missed out: the promise and scope for development. The promise started manifesting when those selected resumed at the camp organized to put them in shape. Later that year, he made his professional debut, winning his fight, and has continued seeing off much experienced opponents both at home and in the West African sub-region. He won the national light welterweight title and later the sub-regional welterweight title."
It is clear that Rilliwan Ayodele Babatunde is still raw as a boxer, boxed only in two cities in his homeland - Lagos and Ibadan, but was able to win the belt: in 2017 this fighter won the title of champion of Nigeria, then owned the belt of the West African Boxing Union (WABU), but now is the holder of the WBF Intercontinental Champion title.
And Rilliwan Ayodele Babatunde still has a chance: Dmitry Mitrafanov is a rather small boxer for his weight and his reach loses to the Nigerian, there is no great power in Dmitry's punches , the Nigerian hits more sharply and plastic.

Mytrofanov was dropped by Gino Kanters early in his pro career so maybe he gets caught again!?
