@WastelandWanderer

They look cool but I don't really wear jeans tbh, I'm more a tracksuit kinda guy. I'm sure you'd look great in them though!

Found these super cool posts on r/sumo ranking the top 100 rikishi.

I made a thread in the sumo spoilers pick'em group to compile the list so far (its unfinished at the moment). I highly recommend checking it out anyways.

Link here.

I'm not saying sumo should consider larger ring aprons but.....

Here's my version.

Shoutouts to Stephen Terry for giving me this idea.

@Cheeseball

That was more than I could think of tbh! It's interesting that 4 of the 6 have losing records but I guess that kind of frame isn't well suited to a much more athletic sport like MMA. I'll make mine soon but judging by the records, it'll probably be pretty much the same as yours tbh.

Sotoshi will get some wins eventually, he's probably going to move up that list.  Rizin gave him a tough vet wayyy too fast. Tbf tough matchmaking is Japan's specialty, its very hard to get a winning record over there.

@Cheeseball

Yeah, it's especially noteworthy in their boxing cards when compared to most other countries. The Japanese give no ****s about that 0 and I respect that approach! It undoubtedly creates more intelligent fighters in the long run.

My Ranking

@Cheeseball

As I said earlier, it's basically the same as yours but the only real difference is I've based it almost soley on their records and put Akebono Taro bottom as he's 0-4-0 and moved Telia Tuli up to 4th as he has the same record as Satoshi Kamiyama but I've taken the fact that he was an MMA pioneer into account. I was going to put Tsuyoshi Sudario at the top until I read in your description that he struck a sumo official which I didn't know so I've left him in 2nd.

The only reason I put Akebono above the other winless rikishi was cause of his level of competition. Also he has a win in K1 which technically isn't MMA but its still a win. I get where your coming from with your ranking though.

Yeah, if I find the time I'll check out some of their fights and judge it based on that as well. I've just done it like this as a sort of starting point for now.

Found two more rikishi who completed in MMA.

Koji Kotao a former yokozuna who has a bout in the the UF freaking C (that's insane never knew a yokozuna fought in the UFC)! And Kintaro Osunaarashi an Egyptian rikishi who fought Bob Sapp at a Rizin event. I made sure to add them to my rankings.

Btw Koji's Wikipedia article is a really good read if y'all are interested.
