Joshua vs. Usyk
Oleksandr Usyk, TKO, R11
Doubt Aleksandr can get the decision if it goes the distance. Might put a little on a draw, since it is 23 to 1. The odds on Usyk by KO was 10 to 1 earlier in the week on sportsbet. Can't say no to that.

Prodan is 6 to 1 on sportsbet. Don't think he can get a decision against Marku

Joshua fades as the fight goes on, i don't think hes got the gas tank to last so if it goes past round 7-8 its Usyk's all the way

Egregious New Predictions

Predictions: 5 of 6 Winners, 3 Perfect, 325 Points   |   Tied for 65th

Hatton vs. Martinez
I adopt Campbell Hatton at -1750. He has an incredible mountain bomb. Hatton could land the rival. I bet my life on it!

Okolie vs. Prasovic
I choose Lawrence Okolie at -3333. He has a distinctive hammerlock. Okolie won't avoid the unthinkable.

Lapin vs. Martyniuk
I am loyal to Daniel Lapin at -4000. He has a cryptic right hand. Lapin ought to bury the adversary.

Smith vs. Castillo
I can't get enough of Callum Smith at -3600. He has a sincere overhand and a woebegone double leg flapjack and also a wacky lapel choke. Smith could gargle the feat.

Prodan vs. Marku
I prefer Florian Marku at -600. He has a groundbreaking counter left. Marku is about to penetrate the senses. So say we all!

Joshua vs. Usyk
I have a crush on Anthony Joshua at -270. He has a reliable overhead chop and a luxurious double leg flapjack. Joshua could undress the unthinkable.

Predictions: 7 of 7 Winners, 3 Perfect, 440 Points   |   6th Place

Been deliberating over this Joshua Usyk fight for weeks now!   I've finally settled on Usyk!  I have actually always been leaning Usyk but Joshua is a good solid fighter too and he has ways to win so that makes it difficult for me. I love watching close fights, I hate picking them!!

Obviously size is 1 of the main talking points here. Is Usyk big enough? Is Joshua too big, too powerful??  Certainly Joshua is both big and powerful. He is also a very underrated pure boxer, he has the 2nd most accurate jab, behind GGG, out of all the top level boxers( an official Compubox stat) His jab, 2 is clean, crisp and powerful. He puts hooks together well and has landed some monster uppercuts over the years, I still don't quite understand how Klitschko head stayed attached to his shoulders?!. He is a good Athlete, with decent footwork. There are cardio questions tho, not a huge issue but still it's there.

OK, so Joshua is a really good Heavyweight.  So how's Usyk going to beat him? I don't really think size is a huge issue, any man over 15 stone punches hard enough to take anyone out. Usyk wins with Skill, IQ, Feints, Footwork and Pace. Honestly Usyk is a master boxer.  You won't find better technique and the footwork is near the very best you'll see for his size. The Feints will be crucial I feel. Usyk puts this pressure on people without doing too much.
Another factor. He's a crazy man, an extremely intelligent crazy guy tho!
The crowd is a factor but look at Usyk history. Went to Poland took out the Polish World Champion, went to the US took out undefeated US hope Michael Hunter, went to Germany took out German World Champion Huck, went to Latvia beat, (in his closest fight) Latvian World Champion Breidis, went to Russia and schooled Russian Unified World Champion and scary monster Gassiev (also if you know anything about recent history a Ukrainian going to deepest Russia is mad!) he has also came to the UK and absolutely MELTED another World Champion Bellew!  See the pattern??
Usyk loves nothing more than going to your back yard and beating your ass!!!

I think the fight will be cagey to start but over time Joshua isn't landing anything big and Usyk keeps touching, Joshua gets more anxious, more desperate, more fatigued, Usyk keeps touching, death by a 1000 cuts.
Late TKO for Usyk!!!!

Boom!!!!!!

There you go, I still think I may be wrong, its impossible to rule Joshua out. I am also, ALWAYS!, worried about god damn boxing judges!!!!!  But I put my neck on the line. Let's go Usyk!!!!!

i think the heavyweight division in boxing has been quite **** recently, Joshua is currently just one of the best of a load of 1 dimensional fighters. he's very basic, no head movement, his footwork is really basic to, the only thing he really has is power and if he lands a clean punch you're in trouble, but i think Usyk could eat those shots.

Predictions: 2 of 2 Winners, 0 Perfect, 100 Points   |   199th Place

i totally agree, usyk is the smaller man but that comes with advantage of speed, and if he can get in and bank those body shots early i think he can cruise to an easy win. Of course Joshua has power and if he can land clean it could be all over, but as you say if Usyk utilizes his skills, IQ and his foot work he could very well get the upset.and i do think Joshua is extremely overrated, if went up against the likes of Tyson fury his head would get boxed off.

Haf to keep quiet about Ousley.  Man is unknown, started out as a College American Football player, late to boxing, won a lot of amateur tournaments, became Olympic alternate for USA boxing. Oh and he's signed to Joshua's management /Promotions 258 Management. Do you really think they'd set their boy up to fail on AJs undercard????

Already with the first L here, with likely more to come.  Ah well, it's not the win for me, it's the fight itself.

Did you guys pick Prodan or Marku???

70% of Tapology picked Prodan but I'm certain none of them have seen him fight and just looked at the19-0, heavily padded record! Man fights in Italy FFS!!

Marku is an 8 to 1 favourite, closed a little tighter at 6. I don't rate Marku, but Tapology surely didn't look at the odds or who is the Matchroom home fighter here either!!!

Good job guys. At least you never fell into that trap of picking the padded record!!!
Still, I'm not impressed much with Marku either!!! I almost but a bet on Prodan, not a pick, but an actual bet because I think the odds are way to wide for 2 fairly equally matched fighters.
Anyways, see how it goes. Marku has won the 1st couple rounds for me. He's actually using a jab which I didn't expect. He's usually more of a mauler!
