But Khusein Askhabov can step in and fight..
He is in Las Vegas training now after previous visa issues and haven't heard of a confirmed fight for him yet. So perfect opportunity! Hopefully he can step in for Capaldo!

I think Shimon Smotritsky is just all around a better fighter and Malott's head movement doesn't sit well with me. But hey i'm 0-3 with Canadian fighters on the Contender Series so *** do i know. Lmao

Should be a good scrap, little bias but going with my Illinois guy + grappling looks good and he can strike as well! Really like VFS Academy; they are turning young fighters to killers, very impressive.
Weems vs. Garcia

Pretty decent matchup here, Weems goes a little crazy sometimes if not careful he could give Garcia the better positions all night on the ground. Did not like Garcia's striking, both have decent grappling games. Probably the hardest fight to predict on this card but I think Weems aggression with the better standup will get it done. + last time Weemz fought Bantamweight was in 2019, wondering how he'll look on the scales.
Barnes vs. Holmes

Think Holmes will waste 0 time trying to get this on the floor. Barnes doesn't have the grappling to hang around long. Holmes seems to be the better all around fighter here with youth.
White vs. Valdéz
Patrik White, TKO, R2
From the few clips i saw of White i think his range management and striking, doesn't have 1 punch KO power but rather puts it on you with great efficiency. Also trains or did train with Medic and Carlton Minus, expecting him to be able to use his length and wrestling to keep it on the feet. Valdez didn't really impress me and had a lot more film, ground game doesn't look that good, only way i see him winning if late GNP or Sub; but if he can't get White down, White should punish him.

Just read MIke Mallot's wiki and found this gem:
Six weeks later he would fight again this time forfeiting his purse to fly his opponent Michael Imperato (3-0) from Toronto to Trenton, Nova Scotia for the fight. Mallot, fighting for free, pulled off the upset by submitting Imperato in the first round with an armbar. In an interview after the fight Malott said "I fought for free for this fight. I don't do this for the money, I do this 'cause I love it. This is such an incredible feeling, I would pay and I have paid as an amateur."
On top of that, he's fought better competition, gimme Mallot by R1 KO

Malott had served the last several years as a coach within Team Alpha Male before making his comeback in an upset win against undefeated prospect Solomon Renfro (who will also participate in this DWCS season). Despite having long lay-offs, Malott has shown a great level in each of his recent fights showing himself to be a two-way finisher (KO and Submission). Smotritsky is undefeated and he also fought twice on the Bellator cards in Tel Aviv, but it is clear that Malott trains at a higher level and faced better opposition, as well as having more experience within the sport.
