IDK if anyone has mentioned this before, but I find it crazy that Brandao has a 2008 KO win over welterweight powerhouse Brian Foster on his record. Brandao has a lot of losses, but if you look at them, it would seem that most of them were above 145 lbs. He could really be a force at this weight class, or he could be the next Philipe Nover. We'll see.

I think that he is going to be the next Melvin Guillard.

I believe he only has 1 loss at FW, the rest are to much bigger LWs and WWs.

Oh man. Phelipe Nover, what a heartbreaking ordeal that was.

I thought Brazilians spelled it "Thiago"

Yep I thought the same thing when I posted that vid earlier, the losses and Bermudez wrestling makes me question him though...

Quick question, why does everyone mention Phillipe Nover when they talk about Brandao?

AnikM...This situation seems similar to when Nover made the finals.  He was very impressive on the show, beating the crap out of everyone he fought.  Then he fought a wrestler in the finals and got exposed.

Obviously, these are different fighters, and just because Nover wasn't as good as he seemed, that doesn't mean Brandao is too.  But I think that's why people make the comparison.

I see. They are different cases though, being that Brandao fights in a division where the fighters aren't as abundant as the welterweight/lightweight division.

So the talent found is limited, and since this is the first "recruitment" of the lightest classes, you'll probably have more talent. Kinda like Season 1 and Heavyweights.

I like Brandao. Curious to see how he fares in the UFC.
