I'm usually the "its just the way theyre built" guy when it comes to guys who are in shape but still kind of doughy, but this fight's funny because Cannonier is the direct rebuttal to that line of thinking. Dude was an in-shape heavyweight not too long ago.

Need the gamblers to log on. I'm considering switching Knight and Sherman for both fights going over 1.5 rounds, as I can kinda see both turning into sloppy grindy decision type fights as the guys get winded. But I would feel like such an ******* if my guy gets a first round KO. Both Porter and Cherant got flattened in their UFC debut.

Yeah cannonnier has those genes where he could be way over his natural weight and not look unhealthy , has a lot of natural muscle , like he would never look fat and sloppy it's just the way he's built

lol I feel like Sherman can take this, but he'll probably do it with volume right? Not a one punch KO?

Cannonier vs. Gastelum
Kelvin Gastelum, TKO, R4
This fight is a coin flip in my opinion, i just feel cannonier gases late and Kelvin catches him

Sherman vs. Porter
Chase Sherman, TKO, R1
Two bums that will slug it out, its just that Parker Porter is the bigger bum of the two. Bring on Harry Hunsucker for the winner

Kelleher vs. Pilarte
Brian Kelleher, DEC
Kelleher is the better fighter and the more tested fighter. i believe it will go to the card but could see a kelleher KO

Knight vs. Cherant
William Knight, TKO, R1
MISSMATCH! Knight is nothing special but he is far better on the feet. Cherant will be outmatched from the opening bell. Expect a quick one

I think either of those overs have a good chance of hitting but I'd like the knight fight more. Honestly if it doesn't hit I think it'll be an upset Ko from cherant but most likely just control time with shots here and there from knight to win rounds.

You can also look at the said/Jones fight, over is set at 1.5 there too. I got it at -145 but now it's climbing

I wonder if Sherman tries to leg kick Porter, the owner of the largest trunks on the planet.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 475 Points   |   Tied for 507th

Cannonier vs. Gastelum
Jared Cannonier, DEC
This fight is tough to call. I'm leaning towards Cannonier because he should be able to stuff the takedown attempts and if this fight stays standing, Cannonier will win. I don't think he will knock Gastelum out though because Kelvin is durable. I would not be shocked if both of these guys gas out and Kelvin comes back and wins.

Guida vs. Madsen
Mark O. Madsen, DEC
I'm picking Madsen here but we have seen him get very tired before and we all know Guida is an animal and barely ever gasses out. With that being said, Madsen and Guida are both wrestlers and if an Olympian isn't able to outwrestle Guida at this point in his career then I don't know what to say.

Sherman vs. Porter
Chase Sherman, TKO, R1
Porter can take a lot of damage but Sherman will eventually put him out.

Jones vs. Kakhramonov
Trevin Jones, TKO, R2
Jones will stuff the takedowns and keep this standing. Kakhramonov will get frustrated and try striking with Jones. Bad decision.

Pichel vs. Hubbard
Vinc Pichel, DEC
Hubbard is actually decent but Pichel will just keep taking him down all the way to a decision victory. -110 on Pichel is decent value.

Pantoja vs. Royval
Alexandre Pantoja, DEC
Pantoja is the most underrated fighter in the UFC. Royval is very good but Pantoja is gonna show why there are levels to this.

Saldaña vs. Lingo
Luis Saldaña, DEC
Lingo has knockout power but Saldana is just gonna stick to the outside and pick him apart for 15 minutes. I don't think either guy is amazing but Lingo is worse.

Kelleher vs. Pilarte
Brian Kelleher, TKO, R1
Kelleher may be a gatekeeper but he is a very good one. No way he is letting Pilarte beat him.

Malecki vs. Nunes
Bea Malecki, DEC
I was on the Nunes side but after doing more tape study and research, I can't back her. She is giving up a huge height and reach advantage and has terrible TDD. Malecki will easily win this fight unless Nunes clips her with a punch.

Knight vs. Cherant
William Knight, TKO, R1
Knight will ground and pound Cherant very quick and early. I am always looking to fade Knight but I just can't do it here. Cherant has ok skills but he has fought tons of cans on the regional scene and then when he actually fought a good fighter like Menifield, he got wrecked.

Roberts vs. Bahamondes
Roosevelt Roberts, SUB, R2
Roberts will sub Bahamondes. Ignacio has a habit of giving up his neck when under pressure and I think he will get club and subbed.

Brahimaj vs. Palatnikov
Ramiz Brahimaj, DEC
Brahimaj is better than Palatnikov but I would not be shocked to see Palatnikov knock him out. Brahimaj is a good wrestler but likes to stand and bang sometimes. He will easily win if he gets this to the mat but if he stands and strikes with Palatnikov he is going to lose.

If Lingo figures this out mentally that he has the pressure to push a good 2 rounds, easy peasy.

Cannonier vs. Gastelum
Jared Cannonier, DEC
Going with Jared because I think the leg kicks are gonna be so key here, he's got some of the best leg kicks in the division and he mixes them up well to hide them too. Kelvin never really checks the kicks and because of this it's gonna slow down that forward pressure and the power in his hands, especially since he's very boxing heavy. I also believe Jared can do a good job at slipping some punches and landing some good counters, when Kelvin comes forward he is open to counter strikes and Jared does such a good job at slipping strikes and landing a fast check hook or a straight right. If Kelvin can control the pace of the fight early and utilise his speed advantage, he can win this, but he also has to have an answer to the leg kicks because Jared will continue throwing them, he throws them in different stances and throws both inside and outside. Kelvin would be smart to go for some takedowns too but Jared is very strong in grappling exchanges, he does a good job at defending and getting to his feet and creating space. I think Kelvin is super durable so I do see this going the distance, don't think cardio will be an issue for either guy too
