This is basically Arizona's best Welterweight VS Utah's best Welterweight. Bit of a state rivalry going on here!

Jose Alberto Quiñonez, DEC
Actually, I could be a joke regarding the level of opposition Sean O'Malley faced in the UFC, but I prefer to focus on analyzing the fight. Putting aside his current 2-fight losing streak, Quinonez showed a decent level in the UFC as he managed to be 4-1 in the company with a 4-win streak after the failed debut in the TUF final, all before losing to Nathaniel Wood. . I followed Quinonez's entire career within the UFC and in the face of his fight with Soukhamthath, many underestimate Teco's ability to fight strong strikers: He managed to completely dominate a Diego Rivas who was coming off an impressive knockout victory ( Flying Knee) against UFC and Bellator veteran Noah Lahat, also despite being knocked down managed to prevail over a dangerous puncher like Teruto Ishihara. Andre Soukhamthath has knockout power but poor decisions during his bouts have cost him to land on the scorecards many times. Even though Soukhamthath has trained in better MMA Gyms during his career, I consider Quinonez to have the necessary skills to obtain victories such as using leg kicks, searching for takedowns, ground control and even submission attempts.

I'm surprised these picks are so lopsided on this fight, I'd say it's a coin flip but somebody is going to be violently dispatched for sure.

Austin Bashi, SUB, R2
As we know, Backyard fighters are the most popular today, be it for Jorge Masvidal's BMF Fame, Kimbo Slice's legacy that started with the street fights uploaded to the internet or even for the new Street Fighter video. And because of this I find it curious that Anthony Pettis sent his newly signed fighter for his mannagment (Memnon Warrior with an average 590k views on youtube of his fights on Streetbeefs) to fight a High Ranked High School Wrestler as Austin Bashi for his debut. . Anyone would believe Pugh would make his early fights against opponents more accessible in order to take advantage of his recent internet fame, but not make his debut against a prospect who has been overwhelming his competition. In the past we have all seen how it is difficult for backyard and street fighters to defend takedowns in their professional fights and this against Bashi will be much more complicated. Bashi in this fight will keep the takedown strategy and control him with many possibilities of finishing the fight with ground and pound or some submission. This matchmaking has not been the best business decision for Showtime Pettis.
