Mateusz is a dark-horse prospect with veteran experience and Championship titles in the Polish league. 30 years old, 18 - 1, he just KO'd Scott Holtzman last weekend to score his first victory in the UFC.
WHO WILL GAMROT FIGHT NEXT?
1. Joe Solecki (#36) - Solecki won his decision to Jim Miller (#32) last week, on the same card as Mateusz. Both guys are new prospects, with only two UFC fights per athlete. Both guys have excellent grappling, and it would be a notable achievement for either fighter to beat the other. Do you want this fight?
2. Ottman Azaitar (#46) - Ottman, I believe, has been reinstated by the UFC, making appearances in the scene when his brother fought 3 weeks ago at UFC 260. He is 2-0 in the UFC with 2 KO victories and boasting an unbeaten record of 13-0. Ottman is a heavy handed brawler with thunder in his hands. It would be interesting to see how Gamrot handles the wild slugger Azaitar. Plus, Ottman offers a recognizable name and big following that can help build the profile of the Polish-man if they meet in the cage.
3. Nasrat Haqparast (#24) - Nasrat is the guy Gamrot asked to fight next in his post-event interviews. Nasrat has some hype as another talented young prospect in their division. 5-2 in the UFC, he is 5 years younger than Gamrot. An interesting fight with the potential to build the resume of whoever finished on top. Winner probably earns a ranked fight next. Do you want it?
4. Drew Dober - Rated the 13th best overall lightweight by Tapology, Dober is another young veteran with an overall record of 10 - 5 in the UFC. He dropped his last fight to Islam Makhachev, getting completely outworked in the grappling. Before that he rattled off 3 consecutive KO victories. In short he is an explosive striker with unproven grappling chops. Both guys represent the high-level talent hovering outside the Top 15. Can Gamrot wrestle **** Dober to victory?
