alex for the win, they look like they should be in different weights classes. i think personally Alex is more powerful. he used to be a pro rugby player. and that i think makes it really hard for his opponents to take him down, and with that he can control the pace of the fight and take control of octagon. i don't think he ko's Ortega but i think he'll win by decision.

his striking has come miles since his loss to Holloway. he pieced up The Zombie real bad too and he does look good but i just don't think it will be enough man. He's a superb fighter tho

Philip, even tho I picked Volk for a decision, I agree Ortega has a good chance to find a slick submission if he fights smart.

But round 4 or 5 is a curious prediction to me, because Ortega doesn't looks great passed round 3...

Maybe I'm underestimating his cardio, but if he can't find a finish before the end of round 3, it's Volk's fight in my opinion...

Anyway, it should be interesting.

the card is stacked tonight, so many good fights and great fighters. Ortega is slick as hell but he just hasnt fought anyone like Volk, and Alex has 2 wins over Holloway who put on a show against Ortega

Super excited for this card!

I think Volkanovski will put on some great pressure and pace and get the win over Brian

Lauren will probably be another victim of Valentina unfortunately but we have seen crazier things happen

And then we have the fans main event which is a total coin toss

I can't wait for these fights. and yeah i just don't think any one can handle Valentina. she absolutely dominated Jessica Andrade, and Murphy deffos doesn't have the speed and power to match the queen. i think the only fighter in womens division that could have a chance in beating her is Nunes

Lawler vs. Diaz II
Nick Diaz, DEC
I mean it's just so risky going with a guy coming off a 6 year layoff but I'm going with Nick. Although Lawler has been more active he just doesn't pull the trigger and if he does this against Nick then it allows Nick to get comfortable and start working his boxing combinations. I do think that's what's gonna happen, Nick might start slow but I can see him growing into this fight the longer it goes and after that Lawler may start going into a shell like he's done in the past few years. It's so difficult to call this fight I know but I'm going with Nick

yeah i think nick takes it pretty comfortably to be honest. Lawler is a shadow of his former self. and he waits and waits for the one shot. and nick puts on the pressure constantly, with 6-7 punch combos. i think nick is the best boxer in the UFC

nah 10 years ago Nick was ahead of his time. his boxing is still the best in comparison to the likes of Usman and Colby. And hes a wizard on the bottom man. if he doesn't box Lawler's head off he'll deffos submit him. i don't see the fight going the distance.

Alright boys, today is fight day!  This seems like both a great card to watch and a great card to bet on!

I wish everyone the best of luck today.

I think the best dog on this card is Marlon Moraes.

Marlon Moraes has been fighting at a high level for a very long time.  In order to be successful for as long as he has, he has to know how to deal with aggressive wrestlers like Merab.  I would say that Merab is very similar to Jimmie Rivera from what I can remember and Moraes starched Rivera by TKO in the 1st round.  I also think that Merab can get a little too wild and that leaves him up for openings to get knocked out by a punch in a flurry transition or get caught in a submission during a takedown.

My heart wants Nick Diaz to win and reclaim his past glory because he was absolutely screwed over for getting suspended for marijuana use for 5 years.  I think he is the most screwed over fighter in that regard, the poor guy went into depression and the party life to cope with that for the past few years.

Even though Robbie Lawler has lost his past few fights, the guy still looks like an absolute stud.  He seems like he is in much better shape than Diaz and obviously he has been much more active as well.

Keep in mind that Lawler's last 4 opponents were all ranked fighters who have grappling as their major base. Neil Magny, Colby Covington, Ben Askren and Rafael dos Anjos are all elite grapplers so there is no shame in losing to any of them.  In fact, I thought Lawler should have won that fight by TKO against Ben Askren but somehow the ref let it keep going.  In this fight, Lawler does not have to worry about being taken down at all so that means he can let his hands fly with no fear.

Keep in mind that Nick Diaz has also been knocked out a few times in his career.  He lost to Jeremy Jackson early in his career by TKO and he lost to KJ Noons as well.  When he fought Paul Daley, he was also knocked down hard but luckily for him, the ref did not stop it and he ended up winning that fight.

It's not out of the question that Lawler wins by knockout.  My heart wants Diaz to win, he deserves it.  I wish we can get a patented Diaz submission win here such as a triangle choke on the floor but I don't know man.

Lawler has to worry about hitting the matt with diaz. Nick Diaz is only one of 2 people in the world to be awarded a black belt by Henzo Gracie. and Nick deffos has the advantage in every aspect,  apart from the power but even at that i wouldn't say theres that much of discrepancy

Ummm, Nick Diaz got his black belt from Cesar Gracie and Diaz was the second person Cesar promoted to black belt. Renzo Gracie is a cousin to Cesar. This fight will be an interesting one as i don't think it will play out the way the first fight did, but should be entertaining none the less. Along with everyone, I think the Diaz/Lawler II fight is the main event.

Shevchenko vs. Murphy
Valentina Shevchenko, DEC
What else do I need to say apart from Valentina easily wins. No disrespect to Murphy but I just don't see any advantages shes holds over Valentina. The one positive you can say here is that Murphy could survive the whole 5 rounds, she's never been finished and is pretty tough. Valentina is gonna be able to do whatever here, her striking is just way better and her trips in the clinch are so good

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 6 of 13 Winners, 1 Perfect, 395 Points   |   Tied for 3718th

Volkanovski vs. Ortega
Brian Ortega, SUB, R2
I think his submission game is just that much better than volks striking I hobutnestly believe volk takes the dec

Shevchenko vs. Murphy
Valentina Shevchenko, TKO, R3
I believe she's just to dominate for the division I think after this win Amanda Nunes is next

Lawler vs. Diaz II
Robbie Lawler, TKO, R2
I think Ruthless knocks him out same way he knocked him out 17yrs ago

Blaydes vs. Rozenstruik
Curtis Blaydes, TKO, R2
Curtis has something to prove he doesn't just want to win he wants to make a statement it's only 3rds wrestling and heavy strikes

Andrade vs. Calvillo
Cynthia Calvillo, DEC
I think this fight goes the distance I don't think the killer Andrade shows up

Moraes vs. Dvalishvili
Marlon Moraes, SUB, R2
Someone is getting knocked out or chocked out this fight doesn't go the distance

Hooker vs. Haqparast
Dan Hooker, TKO, R2
I think the hangman has the edge he's dealt with a lot of the same problems leading up to the fight so it doesn't affect him

Abdurakhimov vs. Daukaus
Chris Daukaus, TKO, R2
Stand up Philly y'all got another contender

Modafferi vs. Santos
Roxanne Modafferi, SUB, R2
I think modafferi gets it done

Medic vs. Turner
Uros Medic, TKO, R3
Undercover burn burner right here

Semelsberger vs. Sano
Matt Semelsberger, TKO, R2
I think the force is strong with this one
