Another feature from Top Rank. This is focused on Mikayla Mayer, who defends her WBO Super Featherweight Title for the first time this weekend. 

I like Mayer, she's really good. Great jab, solid fundamentals, punch selection, footwork, cardio and she has a little spite in her punch. 


She has the potential to be a star.  She can box, she talks well and she looks good too. She is also in the best division in Women's boxing.  Britain's Terri Harper has the WBC, France Maiva Hamaduche the IBF and Korean Hyun Mi Choi the WBA. All 4 women are undefeated and are all great boxers.  Looks like a tournament is being set up to crown a Unified Champ with Harper vs Choi and Mayer Hama******. I think it'll be a Mayer Harper unification late this year early next. Have that as Co main event for Claressa Shields vs Savanna Marshall and that's probably the best, most highly skilled women's boxing card ever!!!

Vianello vs. Stone

Vianello had a little bit of buzz about him . An Olympian who was creating a nice highlight reel with some spectacular KO's on Top Rank undercards. Then Big Kingsley Ibeh and his bus driver uppercuts from hell smashed all that hype into tiny pieces, 1 Bus Driver Uppercut at a time!!!! No way was that a draw, Vianello has a loss on his record as far as I'm concerned!! Stone shouldn't pose any problems but neither should've Ibeh. Guido took a beating too, I'm always curious to see how a young prospect who would have felt invincible deals with taking a beating vs a journeyman early. Sometimes the confidence is gone and the boxer never the same

Mariano vs. Rosario

Rare match making for boxing here. A lot of the times you see these match ups in boxing between 2 young undefeated guys yet 1 of them has a massive amateur background and the other is undefeated vs 55 year old binmen. Rosario does have a bit more hype around him and a very good amateur background, representing Puerto Rico at the Pan Ams and many other tournaments at a high level. But Mariano has a decent amateur background too with Team USA and winning Golden Gloves tournaments. Both guys put in impressive showings in their last outing on Top Rank undercards. So, um, I am very interested to see how this match up plays out as its a risky fight to take so early in their careers. I like it

I fancy Mikaela Mayer at -4000. She has a luxurious reverse frankensteiner. Mayer will shatter the dissentient.

Lopez vs. Dogboe
I am sticking with Isaac Dogboe at -160. He has a proficient approach and a zany Samoan driver. Dogboe must vaporize the performance.

Inoue vs. Dasmarinas
I favor Naoya Inoue at -2500. He has a final mountain bomb and a ruthless kimura and also a vicious inverted atomic drop. Inoue will likely zonk the opposition.

I hate it when a great fight is spoiled by a ******** decision.
Adam Lopez beat Dogboe ass!!! Yet loses a decision. Yes Dogboe started well but from r3 on Lopez was in control, hurt him multiple times, doubled up on punches thrown and landed and at the end of the fight Dogboe was hanging on!!!
Yeah, Dogboe "won" that! Haha 

Inoue is my favorite boxer of the last ten years. Dude is a tremendous watch every time. Some of the nastiest body shots and head-body combos in the history of boxing - and that's saying something.
