Gamrot vs. Stephens
Mateusz Gamrot, DEC
This is a classic striker vs grappler matchup. In Gamrot's 2 UFC fights thus far he is averaging 10.5 TD attempts per fight. Stephens, on the other hand, has emassed 18 knockdowns over his 33 fight UFC career. Gamrot has already shown the ability to wrestle and if he wants to avoid the power of Stephens he had better wrestle here. Stephens has fought the much better brand of competition over his career, however, there is a lot of tread on the tires and dealing with Gamrot's wrestling and top control is going to be a very tough ask for Stephens at this point in his career, up a weight class at 155. Stephens hasnt fought at 155 since 2012 so it will be interesting to see how his power and defensive wrestling translate up a weight class. I'm picking Gamrot by decision, bet a half unit on it at +210. Detailed breakdown included in the attached video.

Vieira vs. Stoltzfus
Rodolfo Vieira, SUB, R1
Obviously in the back of everyone's mind they're gonna be wondering what if Vieira gasses out again. I don't think he will, he rushed things too much against Hernandez last time and it costed it so so bad. I think he gets this fight to the ground, he's got very explosive and powerful takedowns and hopefully this time he takes his time on working the submission. Stoltzfus will have a clear advantage on the feet so he's going to have to try and defend the takedowns and keep distance but I don't think he will

Taha vs. Morozov
Khalid Taha, DEC
This is a very interesting matchup that I would classify as striker vs grappler. Taha is built like a fire hydrant, has decent wrestling and a solid ground game but his best attribute is the power he has in his hands. He hits very hard for a bantamweight. Morozov is a damn good fighter in his own right and was a bantamweight champion in M-1 before coming to the UFC. His last 2 losses are to undefeated fighters who very well could be future champions at bantamweight and featherweight (Umar Nurmagomedov and Movsar Evolev). Morozov is a great wrestler with solid striking and a fantastic gas tank. He mixes the martial arts very well and is very live to win this fight. I'm picking Taha by razor close decision because I think he will land the more impressive strikes on the feet and the judges havent favored wrestling much lately. Detailed analysis in the attached video. I think this fight is about 50/50 so I'd say the betting value at the moment is on Morozov at +125. Good luck everyone!

Lemos vs. Ruiz
Amanda Lemos, DEC
Another fight where the line is way off. I think she definitely wins on the feet and can avoid most of the takedowns. Ruiz may land some though, Amanda is pressed against the cage quite a bit. I watched a good bit of Ruiz tape and saw her eat eat a lot of big shots and not be really bothered by them so I don't think she gets KOed. If Ruiz can execute her plan of punch in and get that headlock drag down thing she loves she may be able to win rounds. We haven't really seen what lemos can do from that position. As far as betting I think it's a straight pass, but I may play over 2.5 or lemos by decision if they get better prices, which they might seems like most people expect a lemos KO.

This doesn't have anything to do with this UFC card, but I thought it was funny. I was looking at the odds for every Khabib fight in the UFC. Believe it or not, for their fight at UFC 148 on 7/7/12, Khabib opened at +135 against Gleison Tibau -165. The line moved all the way to -220 for Tibau at some books. You read that correctly.

It's hard to believe there was ever a time when Tibau was thought to be better than Khabib. Too bad Tibau didn't have those PFL judges that gave him the Rory fight when he fought Khabib.

Gamrot vs. Stephens
Mateusz Gamrot, DEC
Gamrot is so well rounded and can really mix everything up, his striking is solid and his wrestling/grappling is also really good. If he mixes it up he can comfortably win this, he just needs to avoid trying to brawl with Stephens who hits extremely hard even at 155, we've seen that power before in the past. Stephens at this stage in his career is going downhill and it's a perfect opportunity for Gamrot to get a big win, and he should do this one comfortably too

It was Khabib 2nd fight in the UFC, Dude wasn't the GOAT yet, Gleason was a proven name beating legit guys, people improve and it's not like Khabib dominated, Khabib didn't get a takedown and in fact, Gleason was the one who got the takedowns, Gleson also outstuck Khabib, So who really won the fight? Gleason won that fight. So the +140 make sence

I think a fight like the Tibau fight is a catilist for future improvment becoming the GOAT, Also didn't get a loss techically because of dumb judges, So Khabib won in the big picture of things

Well, we are looking at this with the benefit of hindsight. I'm sure those odds made perfect sense at the time.

Taha vs. Morozov
Khalid Taha, TKO, R2
This one's hard to call for me and I don't blame anyone who took a shot on Sergey especially before the betting line closed and he was >+150. I really wish I saw more offensive wrestling in his tape, and please let me know if you have a fight where he does a lot of wrestling. Khalid get wrestled a lot and held there. But I just don't see anything from sergeys tape that he will do that gameplan. On the feet I lean tafa but it's more or less even. But tafa seems to have a much better chin. Sergey was hurt bad against Umar and a few other times in his regional tape. I wouldn't call him chinny but I think he's the worse of the two here. Khalid hits hard so I can see him getting a KO. As far as a bet I like Khalid itd, refund if gtd, because I think if Sergey wins it's by decision and I'll get my money back. -180 for that's not bad.

Reneau vs. Tate
Marion Reneau
May be upset of the night. Reneau is older but has great striking, and grappling. Tate may have ring rust.

Gamrot vs. Stephens
Mateusz Gamrot
Stephens, lots of power. Good striking. 50/50 for me here. Gamrot is tough, too.

Vieira vs. Stoltzfus
Dustin Stoltzfus
Rodolfo has a tiny gas tank.

Quarantillo vs. Benítez
Billy Quarantillo
Quarantillo is better by the looks of it, but Benitez has that durable Mexican head. 50/50 for me.

Rodriguez vs. Parsons
Daniel Rodriguez
Parsons is too green. Experience will take D-Rod to the win.

Lemos vs. Ruiz
Amanda Lemos
Ruiz looks so slow when she fights.

Taha vs. Morozov
Sergey Morozov
I like Sergey's energy. He is explosive.

dos Santos vs. Johns
Anderson dos Santos
I'm 55/45 on this one. I think experience, and reach will greatly help MS Dos Santos.

Figueiredo vs. Gordon
Francisco Figueiredo
What can I say? FF goes to a great gym.

Nascimento vs. Baudot
Rodrigo Nascimento
Two beasts. Baudot could win... But Rodrigo looks a bit quicker, and is comfortable grappling. 50/50 here.

Gabriel Benítez, TKO, R2
Tucker was a step up in grappling, benitez a big step up for striking especially with the kicks. When I ran the numbers something kinda interesting.....in Gabe's last 4 fights neither him or his opponent has landed a total strike that wasn't marked significant. Most of his fights stay standing and he's shown good take down defense in the past. I think he get the finish here. Would have loved to get him when he opened at +140. If Q wins he needs to use heavy wrestling but easier said than done.
