Anders Stewart at light heavyweight when the first fight was at middleweight... who's that benefit?

Definitely benefits Anders. That’s the main reason he’s coming in as a decent favorite.

I'd beg to differ that the MAIN reason Anders is coming in as a favorite isn't because it's at 205, but because he basically starched him in the 1st round 2 months ago and only lost because he stupidly threw an illegal knee.

Why would the books continue to keep him at + money after he showed he can basically win in 1 round? Has nothing to do with 185-205.

It's probably worth remembering that Stewart had Anders rocked before the tide turned dramatically the other way, and if you run it back it's probably just as likely that happens again than the other thing.

Methinks the latter.  Always go with the cerebral fighter.  MMA is too technical for Beserker energy.

(In response to Vettori’s fury versus Adesanya’s mind games.)

Yeah, there's "locked in" intensity and "u big mad" intensity.

So where's Figgy go from here? Win lose or draw tomorrow, he basically flips a coin every weigh in. And he's probably just ******* his body up in the long run. Boxing has a new division every five pounds basically, which is great for the fighters but you end up with some really weak divisions. But for a 125lb fighter, moving up ten pounds is huge. Like exponentially more than a bigger fighter. Could he hang at 135?

Figgy is going to be no less than 148 tomorrow night. That dude is ******* huge. His walking weight is almost the same as mine and I fight at 145. I think he does better at 135 a la John Linneker

Yeah I wonder if he's someone who might be better by weighing in closer to his natural weight vs killing himself for a strength advantage against smaller guys. What's he giving up vs what's he gaining?

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 6 of 14 Winners, 4 Perfect, 440 Points   |   Tied for 2869th

Felipe vs. Collier
Carlos Felipe, TKO, R1
Collier has a compromised chin.

Hopper vs. Peterson
Chase Hopper, DEC
They have similar fight styles, but I think Hopper does it slightly better.  This could be a FOTN candidate.

McKinney vs. Frevola
Terrance McKinney, TKO, R1
McKinney is a prolific and early finisher.  I think he finishes Frevola before the Steamrolla even gets rollin'.

Evloev vs. Dawodu
Hakeem Dawodu, TKO, R2
Dawodu has survived and prevailed against other wrestlers from the Caucasus.  I think he handles the grappling challenge that Evloev presents and keeps and finishes the fight in the striking realm.

Murphy vs. Calderwood
Laurent Murphy, SDEC
There's knockout potential on both sides.  Very excited about this fight.  Could be quite bloody.  Expecting both fighters to go hard.  Definitely another FOTN candidate.

Dober vs. Riddell
Drew Dober, TKO, R3
Dober ends it in unremarkable fashion at the end of a long, three-round slog.

Craig vs. Hill
Paul Craig, SUB, R1
I have faith in the Bearjew to solve the puzzle that is Jamahal Hill and get his SUB.

Maia vs. Muhammad
Belal Muhammad, DEC
I don't see Muhammad getting submitted, and I see him exerting more control and scoring more points.  Maia's fights are getting a bit hard to watch.

Edwards vs. Diaz
Nate Diaz, SUB, R2
Pretty standard Nate Diaz algorithm.  Diaz's superior strike rate will pressure Edwards to close range, either with a TD or clinch.  Diaz will then exploit the proximity for a submission.  I may be underestimating Edward's cardio here.  This strategy may be better suited to a 5-round fight.  Diaz is no sprinter.  Everything will depend on Nate's boxing pressure versus Leon's stamina.  It will be interesting to see if Edwards attacks Diaz's jabbing leg....  This is why I love this sport.  Glad to see Diaz back!

Man I hate this Edwards-Diaz fight. I feel like it doesn't make sense for either guy. Edwards needs a top ranked fight, and Diaz needs a fight with a bigger storyline. It's cool to see everyone at the press conferences treat Diaz like royalty, but then it's gonna get to fight night and Leon is gonna quietly piece him up. There's no narrative to it. And if you're gonna do a circus fight, there should be a narrative.

Anders is not the favorite because its at 205. Stewart was the one who asked to fight at 205 (his 185 cuts are rough). Anders on the other hand prefers 185 over 205.

Anders is the fav because how their last fight went.
