GSP Turns down Usman fight

GSP is one of the wileliest (sp?) and probably the most intelligent fight based fighter weve ever seen... He knows whats going on here..He knows in ways age is relevent... and where he is IN that age... lots of box's dont get checked... Lots... one being his lone choice to remain so inactive AT THIS AGE to allow the UFC to play off his legacy and steal it from him because the "new legend" whos ALL warmed up wants a fight? Nawww homey...Im not a HUGE GSP fan... but I respect him.. alot... and this is the RIGHT call... Agree to disagree folks ?

*Summarization GSP is STILL using Dana... Danas not able to USE GSP... and thats how it should work

This is definitely the right call from GSP. He's already a legend and he has noting to prove by fighting Usman. Even if he beat Usman, I still don't think he'd gain much from it and of course there'd be the pressure to carry on fighting as well and he'd have all sorts of fighters calling him out for their own personal gain and that's a can of worms he definitely doesn't want to open. As you said though, it's mostly a matter of principle as Dana would love for GSP to come back and there's no way that GSP would want to do Dana any favours. GSP is nobody's ***** and by turning this fight down, he has made sure that he is still the one calling the shots. This situation has been well played by GSP.
