Spencer vs wolf is a complete mismatch. I wonder if its Spencers last fight on her contract and the UFC just plans on not resigning either of them afterwards?

This entire match-up is completely dictated by whichever version of Cody shows up that night. Either he will look like Max Holloway did against Kattar or he will kiss the floor again after trading right hooks. Should be a banger of a fight either way, for as long as it lasts. I'm picking Font because I don't think Cody will ever be the same again from that COVID damage.

Font vs. Garbrandt
Cody Garbrandt, DEC
interesting fight in a division that has a lot of interesting challengers, many love the stories of undefeated fighters, hype fighters and GOAT's. For me one of the most incredible things about MMA is the incredible career comebacks: Randy Couture rising from what was one of his worst losses against Ricco Rodriguez and then becoming a champion on several occasions in LHW and HW, Chuck Lidell rose later from losing his chance to be interim champion to then defeat Randy Couture 2 times, Tito Ortiz 2 times and become one of the icons of this sport, Frank Mir winning an interim championship and defeating top fighters after suffering a terrible accident of motorcycle. Cody Garbrandt has the talent and skillset to become champion again at 135 lbs, sometimes he has not been as focused as in the rematch against TJ or when he exchanged hooks like crazy against Munhoz, but if to boxing work and they add a greater An emphasis on defense, added to his KO power and hand speed, makes him one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC. In this sport, fans get on and off the wagons like in the London Underground or NY Subway: only 17% saw possibilities for Font vs. Moraes (I pick Font by decision for that fight) now many will say that Rob Font only needs one hit to send Cody Garbrandt into retirement, when obviously a former champion is not an easy task. I pick Garbrandt by decision, I am aware of Font's good jaw and if Cody insists on knocking him out, he could get another bad experience as vs. Munhoz. While Garbrandt had a strong case of Covid-19, he has always been characterized not only as a hard hitter but also as having great athleticism and excellent cardio. Font (not counting Marlon Moraes who had just been knocked out 2 months before and Thomas Almeida) has been completely beaten against tops like Lineker, Munhoz and Assunçao. Cody (like Lineker) has a very good boxing background and has beaten fighters like Dominick Cruz and Thomas Almeida who clearly surpassed him in reach (like Font). This long text probably seems like a fanbase argument, but I am clear about what makes Font dangerous: he has a good range, handles a good volume and has considerable power in his hands, everything will depend on the strategies of both fighters and who I managed to apply it at the time of being on the octagon.

The difference is Couture and  Lidell had chins
Garbrandt...does not.....also it's noteworthy he's won exactly One fight in 5 years...
and that was to a near 40year old Assuncaou.
His chin has looked shot in those 3 other losses. (2 in the first rnd...1 in the second)
.Font is going to test that beard and I'm not sure its going to cut the mustard.

Font is a dark horse in a deep division, I believe Cody is faster and obviously hits harder. Font is rising, though. I kind of favor him in this fight. He's a sniper.

Spencer vs. Dumont
Norma Dumont, DEC
I'm waiting for the odds of this fight, if Dumont pays +250 or something I'm thinking of making a hefty bet. Felicia Spencer is a really good fighter: Dangerous on the ground (from the back or with ground and pound), but it seems to me despite the elbow she landed on Cris Cyborg, Felicia is not considerably good on her feet (not as flimsy as Aksren or Dandois, but it's not that far either). Dumont has only had 2 fights in the UFC, one in which she did not look good against a taller fighter with good striking like Megan Anderson and in her last fight she looked very impressive against a regular level fighter at 135 pounds like Ashlee Evans-Smith. But in general I can highlight that Norma has very good basics in striking (unlike Felicia) and excellent boxing in forward and reverse, in addition to having a good background of BJJ in Brazil (very different from grappling in most of North America. ) and a takedown defense of 100%. In many of the women's fights anything can happen and based on the aforementioned I believe that Dumont can keep the fight standing and dominate with her striking taking a clear decision.

Font vs. Garbrandt
Rob Font, TKO, R1
Cody has lost his chin and Font is a cleaner boxer. Even in Cody’s last fight, he still swung a wide haymaker to get it done. Thankfully for him he had the speed advantage. Font won’t play any games. He will come in there and get the job done.

Yan vs. Esparza
Xiaonan Yan, DEC
Intriguing title eliminator. I see Yan being able to stuff Carla’s takedown attempts and piecing her up with ferocious combos for 15 minutes,

Spencer vs. Dumont
Felicia Spencer, SUB, R1
I do think Norma is a lot more crisp with the boxing, but Spencer will punch her way into the clinch, get a takedown, and get a RNC and will get a rematch with Nunes knowing the tragic state of the division.

Tafa vs. Vanderaa
Justin Tafa, DEC
Pretty bad fight on paper but Jared has terrible takedown defense and at least I can say that Tafa has a win in the ufc so far... horrific waste of time but Tafa takes it.

Silva vs. McGee
Claudio Silva, SUB, R2
I will say this fight is interesting. Two veterans in the ufc welterweight division. Court has better standup and Silva has a fantastic ground game. But he has horrible cardio. I say after a back and forth battle, Silva locks in an arm triangle to get the win.

I am in the process of writing a breakdown on all the fight for UFC 262, And saw that this fight was move to this card, So I thought I might as well copy and paste it hear. It a little sneak peek

Jack Hermanson vs Edman Shabazian
Let me be frank with you guys ,Like 2 days ago I was gonna pick Edman because Hermanson has a tendency to get punk out early by powerful guy like Ventori, Cannonor and Santos and one thing you can say about Shabizion is that he can crack. But when I think about it. Shabizian has the worst cardio I seen, Even if it was on a day notice, Dude should be ashamed as a pro athlete. He's the only guy who gassed out in the 1st round,That not a fat heavyweight, And that fight with Brunson wasn't even fast pace. And that the reason why I'm picking Hermanson. Any legit ranked fighter should be able to make a muddy track for at lest 2 minute and with Hermanson  wrestling and Grappling that should happen. Hermanson just needs to make him work. Not even be successful with the takedown. Also Edman is a orthodox fighter and Hermanson usually loss to southpaw.

I'm looking for another fight to bet on for this card and I'm considering this one (Tafa/Vanderaa), but I just don't know if I want to put my faith in a guy who got brutally KO'd by someone who has since lost 3 straight and isn't in the UFC anymore. Even though I feel like he arguably won his last fight. Idk. I feel like he'll rightfully be favored, but I just don't have too much confidence in him as a fighter.

I hear you trust me I do. It's hard to trust any HW outside of the top 3 IMO. Too much variance. One sloppy whaling punch can end anyone's night up there with the fatty's. Like Yorgan just backpedaling and smoking Tafa. I just chalk it up to HW **** happens. Unless your Francis you cant just barrel forward into any of these guys. Vanderaa however from what I've seen personally is just bad. Takedown's suck. Basically he has to get the clinch to get a decent TD. His striking is piss poor to the point where i think Tafa can just barrel forward here with no regard other than avoiding clinch TD's. personally I think Vanderaa gets KO'd round 1.
