Speaking of the sport passing someone by: I think Tony Ferguson got old without us noticing even before these losses. So many of the wins during his crazy win streak were "get beat up until the other guy gets tired, then pull someone crazy out of the hat".

And it was awesome that he was able to so many times. But that's not sustainable. He took so much damage in his wins. And he's in a spot where he could keep moving down in competition and keep losing. I don't know if you can point to one specific moment where he was officially past his prime, but I think it's safe to say we're there now.

Predictions: 5 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 290 Points   |   Tied for 2975th

Oliveira vs. Chandler
Michael Chandler, TKO, R1
Finally a fight for the belt that makes sense, and the odds and picks are 50/50! This is my favorite kind of fight, one that either man could win in any possible way at any time. I pretty much flipped a coin for this pick

Ferguson vs. Dariush
Beneil Dariush, TKO, R2
The Gaethje fight did career-altering damage to Ferguson and I don't think the UFC is going to give him the step down in competition that he would need in order to win again. Dariush is going to absolutely maul him and hopefully fight next for the belt. I would have picked Dariush if this fight was made a year ago too though, I think he has better fundamentals.

Chookagian vs. Araujo
Katlyn Chookagian, DEC
In a Chookagian fight I have a hard time picking anything besides her winning by decision. Sticking with that.

Burgos vs. Barboza
Shane Burgos, TKO, R2
This seems like a mismatch to me, especially given how much more mileage Barboza has. I'm surprised to see the odds so close and for tap users to be picking Barboza slightly more, I was expecting Burgos to be around -200 and 75%.

Souza vs. Muniz
André Muniz, TKO, R2
Holy **** there's some great spots to make money this week. I might start betting again, seriously. Souza got knocked out SITTING DOWN and now he's fighting a hard hitting badass who won't be submitted by him either.

Schnell vs. Bontorin
Matt Schnell, DEC
This fight, on the other hand, I would absolutely not bet on.

Grundy vs. Vannata
Mike Grundy, DEC
If Grundy decides to go wrestle-heavy and spam takedowns, he can win convincingly. If he tries to stand and bang, he will probably lose a decision. Tough call

Lee vs. Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko, DEC
Another one where I feel like if Shevchenko mixes in takedowns she can win, but if it's pure kickboxing she might get out-pointed.

Pickett vs. Wright
Jamie Pickett, TKO, R1
Will twice be enough times for the can crusher to realize he's all hype, or are they gonna have to hand him his ass again?

Mazany vs. Cachoeira
Priscila Cachoeira, TKO, R1
Whoopsies, looks like somebody spilled a BKFC fight in here. What a mess!

Aguilar vs. Lutz
Kevin Aguilar, DEC
Aguilar has had some tough matchups in the UFC, and also Charles Rosa. I think he can get back on track here because Lutz is a step down

Not even joking it's judging like last weekend's that just makes me think what the **** is the point in even trying to bet , **** the apex too , I know the size difference is really not that different to the normal cage, BUT THE FIGHTS 100% ARE and the amount of eye pokes and **** kicks in the apex compared to the normal cage at fight island and the last ppv is not even close

I think itll be cool once Dana remembers Gaethje, Poirier, and Conor actually exist in the 155 rankings. He's sort of pretending they're on their own island at the moment, like Nate Diaz. But once this round of fights is done, there'll be a lot of cool matchups. Regardless of where in the rankings it happens (for the belt?), I wanna see Poirier-Gaethje 2. Chandler vs any of them.

I'm ultimately going with Chandler for this one.  He has more of that "aura" going on for him right now.

I think Chandler wins by knockout!

Lee vs. Shevchenko
Andrea Lee, DEC
Another favourite I don't agree with at all! Beating Lipski and Pudilova doesn't mean much and you can easily argue (a lot of people did) that Lee beat Modaferri and Murphy. A takedown in 2 rounds and Lee has this, I think she's well capable of that.

Antonina Shevchenko also dosen't impress but it would be enought here.

Burgos vs. Barboza
Shane Burgos, DEC
Burgos is a huge fw and a pressure machine. Historically Edson hasn’t dealt too well vs fighters that can pressure as heavily as Burgos can. Edson is huge at fw also and might be faster. Great fight right here.

Ferguson vs. Dariush
Beneil Dariush, DEC
As much as i love Tony and he is sooo unique i just think he is finished. He would still hand a beating to most of the division at the grand age of 37 but not the highest level opponest like Dariush. Dariush is too good for Tony now, a few years ago i'd be picking Tony with complete confidence however he took one hell of a beating from Gaethje which i really do believe has ended his career. I see Dariush winning this pretty easily.

Chookagian vs. Araujo
Viviane Araujo, DEC
Boring.

Burgos vs. Barboza
Shane Burgos, DEC
Barboza's kicks are some of the best ever. There is every chance that Burgos can't deal with the kicks however i do lean towards Burgos to deal with those kicks and land enough offense to get his hand raised.

Schnell vs. Bontorin
Matt Schnell, DEC
Schnell has the UFC experience and has fought tougher opponents to get the job done here. Could be a close fight but i do edge Matt Schnell.

Souza vs. Muniz
André Muniz, DEC
I'm surprised Souza has the higher percentage. Souza is a legend but is passed it now. I like the younger fighter on a win streak to get the biggest win of his career.

Grundy vs. Vannata
Mike Grundy, DEC
I really like Grundy in this fight. Vannata has the advantage on the feet but if Grundy uses his wrestling i can see this being a wide decision win for Grundy.

Lee vs. Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko, DEC
Boring.

Pickett vs. Wright
Jamie Pickett, TKO, R1
Pickett is huge. Fair enough Jordan Wright has a lot of first round finishes but they're against absolute bums. Neither fighter is ever going to be in the top 15, maybe Wright comes in and gets another first round KO however i fancy Jamie Pickett in this one, if Nchukwi couldn't put you to sleep then Jordan Wright isn't going to.

Mazany vs. Cachoeira
Gina Mazany, DEC
Boring.

Aguilar vs. Lutz
Tucker Lutz, DEC
For me this is a coin flip. Granted Aguilar is on a skid but has lost to legit opponents in Ige and Tukhugov, however losing a stand up battle to Rosa wasn't so great. Tucker Lutz hasn't fought anyone with the experience of Aguilar yet. This is a real close fight but i slightly favour Lutz wrestling advantage.

Soriano vs. Giagos
Christos Giagos, DEC
I don't like backing someone who hasn't had a full camp and took the fight on short notice. I like Giagos here.
