Somebody sell me on giga cus I’ve watched most his ufc fights and I’ve yet to be impressed. Ufc gave him a ranking off koing let me see Jamey Simmons. Even if he beats cub I don’t see him winning his next step up if it’s a young and live body at FW

He's definitely a can crusher, and not very good at that either. He has fast hands, not really a KO puncher obviously and I'll be seriously surprised if Cub loses to this guy.

Yeah I’ve never seen the mma community go so hard for a under the radar can crusher. The eye test he don’t even pass for me honestly . Maybe he can send cub to the shadow realm this weekend and I can act like I was his biggest fan all along

Giga has exactly 8 minutes of good cardio. That's probably enough to  29-28 Cub at this point.

Not sure where this Giga is a fraud thinking comes from. Hes a Contender Series guy working his way up. He was active during the pandemic, and like anyone who was he fought some late replacements. He's got some of the cleanest kicks in the game right now, fights smart, and hasn't really made a false step. There doesn't seem to be much to hate in terms of personality, either. Unless you dislike training pictures and guys who work with charities.

The rise in comp has been pretty normal if you factor in the matchups that fell through: Youssef Zalal, Mike Davis, Bruce Leeroy. And that brings us to now, in a good fight. Y'all are acting like he's CM Punk or something getting a free ride from Dana. The hate is so bizarre and irrational it's got me posting.

He keeps costing you money? Stop betting against him. I rode him and Kevin Holland through 2020 like it was pandemic relief. Once they hit top ranked fights, gently release them back into the wild. No harm done.

Lmao, Jesus. People ****ting on Giga. Dude's a pretty high-level kickboxer. Don't take my word for it, take the fact that he has 40+ pro kickboxing fights, and not all against scrubs either. That's why the MMA community pushes hard for him, because the hardcores knew him years before he even fought MMA for the first time.

I don't think his style translates very well to MMA, if I'm honest. And that explains his meh showings as of late. But fact of the matter is that his kickboxing and overall grappling-defense are too high level to be fighting scrubs at this point. So this step up is justified.

I do think he loses, because again his transition to MMA hasn't been as smooth as I'd have liked, but people need to stop trashing him based on his few fights in the UFC. Dig a little deeper. An upset here vs. Cub is not out of the realm of possibility.

Yeah that's the thing about Tapology that I like. There's a lot of transparency with peoples opinions. I really think that Giga is not as great of an MMA fighter as he needs to be to deserve some of the odds I've seen for him. But you can just go look at my tapology (or my bookie) and see that I've been dead wrong four times now.

I'm making that same statement here because statistically and stylistically I believe it's the correct assumption. It's more or less common knowledge what my stance (or anyone on Tapology) is going into fight night. Maybe I'll be right this time, but that still doesn't make me not dumb for losing money on him the last 4 times. And regardless of the outcome I'm not trying to hate on Giga per say, just making my opinion known that I think the first ranked 145er who tries to ground him is gonna beat him.

He was only crushing cans because Dana was scrambling to put Fight Nights together when no one could fight. Would you respect him more if he sat 2020 out before this matchup?

He was the underdog against Morales. Both betting and on here. He pieced him up and made it look easy, and people fell out of their seats to write it off. Can't do much more than beat the guy in front of you. Does anyone have inside info that he's turning down better fights? Ducking people?

Woah dude calm down, no one said anything about him as a human being. We're talking about his skills, and he has a low finishing rate and he has been crushing cans BEFORE the UFC. Look at his opponents records, no one called him a can or weak.

Calm the **** down. And this is MMA, not kickboxing.

"Whoa dude calm down"

No one's mad, this isn't a fight. Everything's okay. I just calmly disagree.

If you're referring to the 5 fights he had before DWCS as evidence that he doesn't fight real fighters, I would just calmly say its pretty normal to fight some regional guys to start a career..

Erison is on the blob again, apparently.

Giga is an unorthodox fighter who is difficult to read, scrambly, and is surprisingly good off his back. He catches a lot of people off guard. If you look at who he was fought in his last five, they've been meat n' potatoes strikers, none of them having particularly strong offensive wrestling. He's great against guys like that, and typically can't be solved by them until he runs out of cardio at the end of the second. By then it's too late and he's got two in the bag, hence why most of his wins are by dec.

I'm staying away from betting this fight. I moderately lean Giga, but he's never getting near the belt. The first high quality top-control wrestler he faces is going to hold him down like an angry spastic being force-fed cough syrup.

But I don't think Cub at this point in his career is the guy to do it.
