I remember seeing a meme of a guy pointing a gun to his head and it says getting into a leg lock battle with a leg lock specialist. Got to be very careful there. It’s hard to train them fully in training because it leads to injuries if your not going slow to allow someone enough time to tap. Terrible decision. No matter how good your mma grappling is never go for leg locks against a bjj guy. In general we never drill leg locks in mma class because they put you in a disadvantaged position. Maybe use as a way of getting up at best

Allen looked really good today, vs. Strickland (a fighter who handles combinations very well) did not show a concrete game plan beyond throwing and receiving punches. Allen has a good future in the UFC if he uses a strategy like today: handle the fight standing up, look for takedowns, use the ground & pound, look for submissions. Striking is very important, but at the highest level of MMA competition it is necessary to know how to combine different skills.
