Dekeyzer vs. Lugan
Benjamin Dekeyzer, TKO, R1
Judging by his record, Emin Lugan seems to take a kill or be killed approach to boxing.

Although most of the fights look like setups, it's still a nice big card! Hopefully it will stay intact.

Yeah, boxing bud! Squash match City!!! Still, there are some prospects I'm interested in watching develop. Irish kid Tony Browne, couple of Belgian amateur standouts Messaoudi and Messaoud(I think they're cousins?) and I have to say that I'm interested in  Swedish blonde Mariane Ahlborg, purely for boxing purposes!!! 👀👀

I hope all these fights stay together too. Mainly so I don't have to ****** re do the card again!!!!  Guaranteed by fight night half the opponents have changed!

I was also thinking of making a comment about Marianne Ahlborg but I didn't want to risk jinxing it like I did with Nina Pavlovic!

But seriously though, this was her in her first pro fight against Borislava Goranova and my main take away from it is lots of body shots and lots of clinches.

Haha. I fixed the link to her Instagram profile for you!!! Though I am sure that you have already found and scrolled her Instagram page!!! Haha

Seriously tho, she is a talent. 1 of Swedens top amateurs, turned pro a month or two ago and looked decent. As the women's game is still pretty shallow I am sure that she will find herself in a World Title fight within 10 fights.
Scandinavia has actually produced some decent female boxers. Obviously Cecillia Braekhus (though born in Columbia she is a Norwegian national) Elin Cederos, Mikaela Lauren, Sarah Mafoud, Klara Svensonn and Dina thorslund are all currently or recent World Champs

@Mikey1903

Come on man, you know what I'm like, of course I've already scrolled through her Instagram account! I appreciate the effort though!

I'll admit though, I'm not exactly an expert on the Scandinavian women's amateur boxing scene but her amateur record was 3-11-0 but which doesn't exactly scream "top amateur" to me but then again, most of the boxers she faced had fairly good records by women's standards so I'm not sure whether to interpret that as her being thrown in with the wolves due to the lack of amateur female boxers in Sweden or if she is really good enough to compete with those women but just lacked the experience necessary to get a lot of wins. I've picked her to win a decision here but that's only based on the fight I've just watched above.

Amateur records

Predictions: 10 of 10 Winners, 2 Perfect, 590 Points   |   Tied for 17th with 1 other

I can't remember if I mentioned it on here before but I'll do it again anyway!
The amateur records shown on BoxRec are not accurate. BoxRec mainly lists major amateur events. So the Olympics, Olympic qualifiers, Worlds, European, PanAmerican, Asian and some major national competitions.
So, what happens is you'll see a boxers amateur record as, say for example, 3-11.  But in actuality the boxers amateur record is 40-15.  The 3-11 is the boxers record in major amateur competitions, the 40-15 record is the actual record that includes all amateur fights that took place in local clubs, small dinner shows etc. That BoxRec hasn't updated.
A tonne of amateur boxing takes place in small clubs, gyms so it is very hard to keep track of any boxers actual record.

Hope that makes sense

A lot of the time when judging a boxer, I just ignore the amateur records unless they have tons of amateur experience like Lomachenko.

Thanks for the advice! I'm never really sure how much I should read into the ameteur fights when judging boxers. If BoxRec doesn't have the complete ameteur records of a boxer, are there any other sources that provide a more accurate picture of a boxer's ameteur experience?

Just by reading articles on websites, social media etc.

I guess it is easier for me because I am constantly on these sites, promoter websites, always adding fights, creating new profiles etc
So I see a lot more of this information.
I would not advise it, because I spend far too much time on boxing related sites!!

Thanks! The trouble is that there is so much professional boxing to keep up with and so I read a lot about the pros but the amateurs get overlooked. The only time I hear about amateurs is when someone like yourself or someone else on another boxing site starts raving about an amateur prospect.
