I've seen it alot but never that successful. Jon Jones always used it. I am a MMA purest. I personally want to see less and less rules and make the fight as pure and real as possible. I don't want to see that technique banned. I also would like 12-6 elbows, headbutts, and other non life threatening techniques allowed. I just want the fight to be as pure and real as possible without moves that threaten someone's life

Kinda reminds me of the Joe Rogan theory of having a MMA fight with no gloves, no time limits in a open field with no cage. Maybe alittle bit too pure of a fight 😆

Yeah I'm kinda the same Chris. I'm more in favour of allowing more things than banning!!
I definitely think knee's on the ground should be allowed, of course 12 to 6 is dumb! And oblique kicks, I mean, it's a legitimate technique.
I guess it is brutal but let's not get it twisted, MMA is brutal!! You train for months, years to perfect techniques that render people unconscious!!!

Yeah I think since that was the first time we’ve ever seen a fight stopped with one of those kicks it’s too early to talk about banning it.

if you ban Oblique kicks than ban Heel hooks too. they've done 10x the damage over time than oblique kicks have.

I think most people when it comes to submissions, they break the arm/whatever when the person refuses to tap.

Palhares ended people careers because he would not let go.

I don't know if it should be banned, but what I saw was a man obviously go for a serious injury and destroy another man's leg. He went for the break, he meant to **** his leg up big time.

We've seen breaks from checks, we've seen a lot. I don't want to start an argument, but I think what he did was very dirty.

OK, he tried to break his leg.  What is the intention when you spinning heel kick someone in the jaw??

What if they suffer a broken jaw, or a broken eye socket? Many fighters have been ruined by orbital fractures.  Bispinglost an eye because of a Vitor Belfort headkick

My point is that the main intention of MMA is to do damage

I understand that subs are meant to get people to tap and breaks or tears are a part of it but man Heel hooks don't hurt at all.......until your knee blows out. then its too late. there are only 2 taps to heel hooks. people who tap because they know its deep and what can happen. not pain. Second are the people who tap as soon as the ligaments tear and it's too late. you're out a year or so.

Ill argue against legalizing one technique that @Mikey mentioned. Knees to a grounded opponent. This is illegal for a reason. When you get a knee in the standing position, the head has movement to move backwards. The reason those knees are illegal on the ground is because the head has no way of moving backwards and thus breaking your neck and killing or paralyzing yourself. So when a opponent shoots in for a take down and the other fighter stuffs the take down, we all deep down inside want him to throw that knee to that bent over fighter PrideFc style and make him advance his position or let go/go unconscious. If he got a knee in that position his head would compress into his spine and very bad **** would happen. Thus punching to the spine and back of the head is illegal. Injury is expected but we try not to cause paralysis or death

It is obviously to do damage, but life changing damage? Do you want to win by knockout or submission, or do you want to obviously aggressively stomp a guys knee to ****?

Knockouts, submissions are part and the main part of MMA. Going for a kill shot on a guy's leg just seems different.

Thus this ties back into my original point that i want the sport as pure as possible without death or parallelization

Its a pretty Rare occurrence. Hell im willing to bet Bukauskas fights again before Rountree does lol. You could rupture someones liver with a perfect kick and they could die in bed that night. I think the rules are fine. FIX THE DAMN GLOVES BEFORE ANYTHING.

I don't know, I think maybe because I have watched boxing so long and seen so many deaths (an 18 year old girl died just the other day due to brain injuries). I think I may be numb to it.
I don't think there has ever been a death after an MMA fight? Not that I know of anyway.
I am 100% not saying that's a good thing, I'm saying that it just is what it is.
Combat sports are extremely dangerous, it just is what it is
