Wish I could say the same. Me and my boys down here in the abyss have no representation for our human/rat hybrid kind. Except Aljomain Sterling, but we don’t like to talk about him.

Mokaev won the fight, but he may have lost the war.

I hope he hasn't done any serious long term damage. MMA history is full of fighters with loads of great fighters that were plagued by injuries that stopped them from reaching their full potential and I hope he's not going to be another name in that long list.
On the flip side, it's a good educational picture to show the fans who don't respect the "boring" grapping aspect of MMA just how dangerous that side of the sport can be!

If only he had gotten to his feet and free of the grappling, Mokaev would have been done for the night.

Just re-watching some of the fights that have been interested and it's scary when a man can take a chin kick like that to the chin. Mike Platinum Perry, iron chin was finished by a headkick and punches by Geoff Neal, and Nate Diaz only TKO loss is a headkick that landed by Josh Thompson.
Seriously impressive, and the way he comes back, people gotta remember this man is a grappler, who has now undeniable ground game after savagely destroying Ryan Hall and Bryce Mitchell, and power in his hands that is iron.
Who the hell wants to fight this guy right now?

Even I had to look away for part of that, I was sure his knee was going to snap backwards. Looking away probably wouldn't have helped all that much, the sound would be sickening.

I always feel mixed about fighters refusing to tap out. On one hand, I have insane respect for how tough they are and their determination to win but on the other hand sometimes it's just plain foolish! There's no shame in tapping out. I think the problem is too many fighters and fans seem to think that when a fighter taps out, they're saying "WHAAA!!!!! HELP!!!!! I SURRENDER LIKE THE FRENCH!!!!!" and not "OK, I can't get out of this one. Fair play mate, you got me!"
Losses are part of the sport and if I were a fighter and they were showing clips of me being submitted, I'd rather people see clips of me tapping out instead of me having a limb snapped and rolling around in agony. More dignified I feel.

No dishonor in tapping if you are in a break or passout situation, you only get one knee one neck one body.

If the UFC makes Leon's next title defense either Colby or Masvidal, then I hope they just throw their rankings system in the dumpster by the end of the year. As an organization and the "global leader in MMA", they cannot make a decision on whether their rankings matter and fighters need to earn their shots based on merit, or if the numbers on the thing can just be changed and moved willy nilly and only social media numbers matter when making fights, not the Wins/Losses.
I really don't understand how Dana and the UFC are looking at all of this. TBS dropped the PowerSlap thing because the ratings were absolute garbage, but yet Dana just keeps going on and on and on about the numbers being huge on Instagram and TikTok. It's like someone convinced him that those numbers mean more than actual TV network ratings and PPV sales lol

This is not the first time UFC has done stupid title fights for money and for facts, the UFC has tons of stupid title fights over the years, The UFC isn’t going to change because of another stupid one, think your being a bit hyperbolic, The ranking have never been taking serious bro

The UFC will always put the fight that would sell better over the fight that makes the most sense. As a fan, I disagree with this approach but they're a business first and foremost and are in it to make money. The UFC care more about maximising their profits than they do about the integrity of the sport.

And Honesly the number 1 contender is Belal Muhamed, Can you blame the UFC for wanting to give the title fight to Colby??? If they gave it to Belal, they're just going to get people moaning about Belal being boring, Also if they give the title fight to Khamzat, People will moan about Khamzat missing weight by 10lbs in his last fight
Honesly, The only fight that won't result in some people moaning will be Gilbert Burn,Maybe they can give it to him if he look good agaist Masvidal

Honestly, all MMA “fans” do is ***** and moan so they might as well just set up the Belal fight anyway. The first Leon fight was a disaster and Belal is being a salty manchild about it, so you could sell that for decent PPV numbers, as well as pushing the division into a direction that isn’t fighting the same guy over and over and over like Kamaru did.
Besides, what does it matter what those “fans” think? They’re just gonna stream the main card in their ****** 240p resolution in their Discord group and spam racial slurs in chat

My point was that they should get rid of the rankings and go back to the old days of just putting on fights. It gets annoying listening to certain people trying to "justify" certain points or arguments by referencing the rankings, but then the UFC turns around and constantly disregards them. The whole system just looks stupid.

I'd honestly rather watch a 4th Usman vs Edwards fight than see Edwards vs Colby or Masvidal
