@Chris I've nearly got my patio finished. Still need some electrical work done, some plugs etc. Plan on putting a TV out there and I'm trying to restore this old kerosene-fueled refrigerator to go out there also, which is ******** because it would be easier and better by far to use a standard fridge but I love the old *************. I started to sand it back myself and that night I got a nosebleed so Christ knows what is in the paint that's on it, and hopefully I haven't just given myself a brain tumour. Going to have to get it sandblasted or something I guess. Not ******* with that side of things again anyway.
Opted for a kind of flyover with insulated panels and rebated dimmable lights. Being in QLD (Subtropics) I also have to get it screened off, way too may mosquitoes and midges and giant moths and beetles here so it will be unusable in summer if I don't. Two quotes I've been given have been almost as much as the patio itself which came to about 13K for the installation/kit. I have no idea how that money is justified. Fixed-screens too, nothing fancy like electric roller screens or whatnot.

@Tartara not really. I'm just bleeding money at the moment. Inflation is crazy and supply chain issues are making it worse.I would say I'm paying about 30% above the market average for renovations right now. It isn't much in isolation but across multiple jobs, yeah, it's painful.
I also think there's going to be another nasty market correction between about the next three days and th 12th of next month. Don't ask me why. Just intuition.

Polish men ram stone facades. They all do.
Polish people drive a Ford station wagon, everyone. Polish people fix their windshield wipers with duct tape, all of them. Polish people recognize a cozy living room from miles away, everyone. Polish people appreciate religious symbols on the mantelpiece, all of them. Polish people install a new window frame like this, everyone. Polish people see the spatial effect of a hanging plant, everyone. Polish people work at the embassy, all of them. Polish people love a chat on the highway, all of them. Polish people are insanely good at drinking, all of them. Polish people have a great sprint in their legs, everyone.
But if I had the choice, I would only allow Polish babes in the Netherlands, no more than 35 years old, without a driver's license. They can work like dudes and when they have a pint of vodka they are as willing as my ***** around the twelfth day of her heat. Well, every now and then a tooth is missing, but that can even increase the lust.

Speaking of Poland: In the far north of Poland you have a peninsula to which 1 highway leads. At the end of that peninsula is the town of Hel. Normally I always bring this fact up when I hear that AC/DC song, but since we're covering the subject of Poland I thought why not.

Polish are tough a Pole gave me cauliflower ear and some of their products are pretty good and affordable and they have some good vendors I used before, they are mostly law abiding and an asset to any country they just have drinking and brawling issues, some with mental health issues, they are kind of like rough alot of them in training, and very hardman style but thats just who they are... They saved Europe from the Turks at the end of the day everyone owes them.. And the younger ones who grow up in the west are more calm and less outgoing/macho, which is good and bad... For training you cant beat doing some BJJ or grappling with Polish you will have a tough spar, but yeah mostly great people all the ones Ive met, met some geeky IT Polish aswell
That Harry Potter kid proves parents should always put their kids in self defense or combat sport/athletic training, it needs to be a part of everyones lives... Self defense/athletic training that is... No excuses just do it, better safe than sorry

Over here, a common positive stereotype is that Polish people are great builders. I suppose there's a bit of truth to it as in London at least, a surprisingly high number of tradesmen are Polish. Whenever we've had work done at our place, there has usually been at least one Polish guy involved in the project and they've always been pleasant people to be around. Obviously there's going to be a few dodgy Polish tradesmen around but I've personally never met one yet.
