They are the same thing because the words have changed, but their meanings haven't.
Honestly the biggest problem with the criteria is that cumulative impact is not scored retrospectively. It's scored immediately where the severity of it cannot really be judged at all.
Let's say one fighter successfully cage grinds another for the duration of the round. They don't really land anything, but neither do they take any shots. They come out for a successive round, and are visibly more tired than their opponent at the opening Bell. They won the previous round on control. But to do it they severely depleted their gas tank. But the other fighter looks fresher.
Did they really win that previous round? In what way? They burned themselves out for no meaningful--that is impactful or effective--result. It would be a more logical determination in that scenario to say that the fighter who lost on control actually won the round. Control does not always equate to dominance and nor is it always effective.

If you believe takedown defense is a faucet of MMA grapling, which I believe is, than in that scenario he would be the one to have the impactful grappling and probably should outweigh his opponents 'fighting area control', but no judge or person watching would actually score it that way and if they did people would have a meltdown.
Impactful grappling is funny too because it states, "[...]or grappling, lead to a diminishing of their opponent’s energy, confidence, abilities and spirit." How does someone truly judge if a fighter lost his spirit, is it losing that glint in their eye Chuck used to have? Everything else makes sense but than they throw that in there.

About your game Idea, I though of this really stupid idea for a game (and I mean pointlessly stupid lol!) a couple weeks back but didn't do it because of how stupid it was but I've had a few drinks so **** it, here's the idea anyway and I'll reconsider when I'm not slightly drunk lol!
The game is called the "The Lucky Bastard Game". It works similar to the survivor game but instead of making your own picks, you are randomly assigned a fighter on the card and if they win then you go through to the next week. This goes on until there's 1 left or if it turns out that nobody was given a winning fighter then nobody wins that game lol!
Here's my idea of how it would work:
STEP 1) Every fighter for the upcoming UFC card is assigned a number eg. Blades #1, Aspinall #2 ect.
STEP 2) A day or so before the card, I assign everyone a random number by using a random number generator or something. This number corresponds to the numbers assigned to the fighters so if you get assigned #1 then your fighter would be Blades in this case. It's possible some people might end up with the same fighter but that doesn't really matter.
STEP 3) If your randomly assigned fighter wins then congrats, you're through alongside anyone else who had a winning fighter. This carries on until there's only 1 left. If we get to the last 2 or 3 or something and they all have losing fighters then nobody wins!
I probably won't end up making it anyway but I'm drink so posting a stupid idea wont hurt I guess lol!

Luck based games can be great (Uno for example is half luck based). I think your idea is really good, you should make it.

I'll re-evaluate when I'm slightly more sober. Maybe do it for this week's as a trial run. I know I said I'd assign people their numbers with a random number generator but I'm not sure how I'd be able to be open about that as I know I'd have people accuse me of deliberately giving them **** fighters to **** with them. Maybe a video where I show myself using the number generator for them or something. I dunno, if I was gonna do it, I'd have a few issue to sort out first but maybe it could work.

By the way, my opinion - my truth is that Tapology always had a problem on the forums and probably will always have, because noone cares, and they don't really want to improve it !
For example :
1) Some forums get sponsored adds from big companies, because they are strong with many daily active members... !
2) If Tapology's forum was good enough, i will never had to search for something better - deferrent and leave when i was 3 months as a member... ! And much much more... !
If you want any other truth... just hit me up... !

@Tartara you have to stop taking this site so seriously. It doesn't matter, and whatever concerns or well-wishing you have for it, these are in no way reciprocated by the owners of this site for you, or any other member, or for the standard of content that is posted here. Relative to this last point, their interest in the content posted here extends only as far as moderation to ensure that this does not become so toxic as to get the site deplatformed either by google, or by the companies that pay to advertise here.
The truth is, they don't care about you, me, anyone else up to and including the ...'staff' any more than an egg farmer is concerned with the individual identity of his hens. What they care about is page clicks, rates of traffic, and convincing people (amazingly, I might add) to 'work' for them adding entries for a rate of pay that would make the owner of a Taiwanese sweatshop owner blush. When queried about this, they immediately become incensed, and their disclaimer consists of a very feeble, and insubstantial passive-aggressive argument that basically goes like this:
'You're selfish, and it isn't surprising that you wouldn't understand wanting to help build towards something".
This is of course a fairly obvious deflection.The truth is they are greedy, unfair and exploitative entrepreneurs who are working towards having as many people give their labour away for virtually nothing to the end of creating value from nothing in the form of a database which is accessed mostly by gambling agencies and gamblers alike--both of which are deplorable examples of humanity generally-- thus generating site traffic which is the foundation for selling ad space, for little to no investment, and they value the people who give that labour to them in good faith the way a ploughman values his ox.
We are all just ants crawling around in a maze here.
In the three years I have been here--or however long it's been, I have seen multiple members who have extremely advanced belts, and have been here since the site's foundation, make forum announcements relating to their real lives that go totally and unregistered or even acknowledged by the owners of this site. They do not, quite simply, give a ****. It is likely the case they do not even remember who they are.They are not even paying attention. All quality posts, all input--unless it can be commercialised will go totally unregistered and unappreciated by them, forever.
Do not trouble yourself over the health of this site, Tartara.
