Premature Tangent: Josh Emmett deserves a title shot
Look I get it, Josh barely got a win over a guy Max Holloway ran over like roadkill and I personally don’t believe he has a chance in hell at beating Alex, but the amount of disrespect in people saying “He’s not ready“ really bothers the **** out of me
For one, Josh is in his late thirties. He doesn’t have much, if any time to improve his style more than what it is. He’s an old dog and this is the biggest win of his career, an opportunity he will likely never get again. It’s now or never in Josh’s position
Secondly, who the hell else deserves a shot at Alexander? Holloway again? Ortega again if he beats Yair? I mean for god’s sake if Featherweight is supposedly super stacked then give Alex some new competition. Plus, be nice to see Alex fight a guy his size for once lol

If this was any other division, I would agree, but Volk wants to fight frequently and there’s slim pickings at Featherweight. It comes down to who deserves a shot the most, and very few have that detail backing them

The only other guy who has a reasonable shot at getting a title fight again is Yair Rodriguez *if* he wins his fight this week. Beyond that, it’s Josh or get ****** Volk. We’ve had the same two guys go at it for the span of two years, let’s get this division moving
TheDeanofMean I mean, they might as well book it. Nobody is beating Volk anyway and it's a fresh matchup at least. It would be the first one-hitter-quitter Volk has faced in a long time.
