Also, why are your food portions so ******* big? I couldn't even finish the small portions and most places I just ordered from the ******* kid's menu even though I was about 15 at the time and even they seemed like a normal sized adult portion! And do you really need to put melted cheese on every single burger or steak? Don't get me wrong, I like melted cheese but you guys go WAY overboard with it! Seriously, I remember having a steak that looked like the Chuck E. Cheese mascot had puked on it! That sort of food can't be healthy to eat on a regular basis.

It's not small, it's just the perfect size portions for normal adults. I'd consider myself to have a fairly average appetite and if I go to a restaurant, I can finish the meal comfortably but also feeling full up. That's the right amount.
@AyyLmaonaise
Don't know if it makes much difference but we mostly just used smaller restaurants as a guide book said to find the hidden gems without specifying any in particular so we basically just played Russian roulette with small but not too sketchy looking restaurants so maybe the cheese on steak is a small chain kinda thing, I dunno? Cheese on steak definitely seemed like a recurring pattern though. I remember for that steak I was referring to that was absolutely covered in cheese was described in the menu as being covered with "a sprinkling of cheese" if I recall correctly so I was expecting little bits of shredded cheese but no, they absolutely covered the whole bloody thing in it.

We never did find that hidden gem of a restaurant that the guide book promised us btw. I'll add make better guide books to the list of things to improve as well!

I'm trying to think of where I'd advise someone from outside the US to visit. Depends on what you like, I guess. FWIW, the best vacations I've had were to Chicago and Mesa Verde. Florida can eat it - old people and humidity.
I just got back from Portland, with an extra day spent in Seattle. Portland is a GREAT low-key getaway. No major attractions, but a lot of cool neighborhoods, great clubs, and some of the nicest people I've ever met. Seattle kind of sucked, actually, but that could have just been the mood I was in.
On Seattle: I did get to make a pilgrimage of sorts. I know he's a figure of mixed reputation in MMA circles because he never competed, but I don't think anyone ever did more for the development of the martial arts in America than this guy. YMMV.
