It was accidental, but it was the worst eye poke I have ever seen. Belal's eye looked very bad, I hope this does not have long-term consequences in her career such as damage to the retina.

Eye pokes suck. I continued after mine and lost bad because I literally couldn't see, doctor later told me I was lucky I didn't lose the eye due to the hematoma I had inside the socket. Always better not to continue when it comes to the eyes otherwise you'll end up like Bisping lol.

Guys stop clutching at straws there’s nothing intentional about most eye pokes in mma. It’s not like their timing it. They measure range with fingers out. Leon has been out of the cage for 20 months in a country where all gyms are closed obviously that rust has had an effect. As if he should get a loss for that he’s had enough bad luck recently and doesn’t need more.

I think he should get a fight with Covington in the same card as usman vs masvidal. That should be interesting. Then it’s a simple winner vs winner, loser vs loser situation since masvidal has issues with both. If not then Thompson makes sense. I do think that mma gloves could be tweaked slightly to point fingers down instead of out but not to much where is effects grappling and choke grips. Damn this card could have been a sleeper without the no contests. Imo it was looking like belal couldn’t hang with edwards for 25 minutes and the odds on a finish were longer than they should have been

Hopefully the next one is better and belal has no serious problems with the eye. Very frustrating to be a fan of British mma right now where the only guys with potential is getting this awful run. I’m picking vettori to beat till when that comes around
