Prediction: wrong Arlovski   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2

Sergei is very flatfooted when he fights. As long as Arlovski's can keep mobile and his chin doesn't get tested it's his to lose.

We can't draw much from that fight. Mizuno is a pretty much a Judo guys who's striking is less than mediocre. The guy actually tried to stand and trade with Sergei. The Mirko that everyone said is past prime and done beat Mizuno is 56 seconds. Arlovski has looked shaky over the last 2 years but Sergei hasn't looked like a killer.

I'm waiting until the weigh-in video to make a pick here. In recent fights neither guy has physically looked like they used to. If one of them shows up looking like they put in a serious training camp and look healthy, that'll probably be my guy.

Too close to call this one. Probably a boring decision.

Don't sleep on the paratrooper. If Fedor somehow exits the tourney, like by smashing his fist into a thousand pieces on Bigfoot's head, Sergei will win the whole thing.

Kharitonov has a chin and Arlovski does not. That'll be the deciding factor. Also, Kharitonov could beat anyone in this tournament on any given day. Fedor is my favorite, but K winning it all wouldn't rock my world.

I'm kind of on the same wavelength as Gregory here.

At first I had Kharitonov by first round knockout.  Now I have Arlovski by first round knockout.  But really I have no clue because Kharitonov has barely been fighting over the last few years and Arlovski's lost 3 fights in a row now.  I don't think Arlovski's chin is glass just yet, Fedor and Rogers are just very heavy hitters and they really connected.

Definitely looking forward to the weigh-ins to see how these guys look before I can really be confident with my pick.

bigj you said it man, its arlovskis fight to lose and i think he will.
Right now my pick is for sergei but gregory is right about waiting for weighins.  I may change it on weighin day.

Arlovski needs to pull out some wins. He's an amazing fighter, he just has not been able to perform lately.

Arlovski is in a great position on his side of the bracket ... he has a chance to show that he still has it and advance to the finals ... while it's tough road at least he does not have to go through Fedor or The Reem to get there

Odd fight here. I am not sure why I am picking Andrei, I do think his boxing and speed are enough to overwhelm Sergei and his ring rust. However, AA's chin is very suspect although it has been against top competition.

I believe I've got Arlovski in this one. Kharitonov is slow and plodding. But... this is going to be a big test for both men, depending on how it goes. If it stays standing, Kharitonov could always blast Arlovski's relatively suspect chin. If it goes to the ground, I'd certainly expect some slick sub from AA.

Arlovski is a great fighter and im sure he will do well against a lot of the top guys but someone that has a decent chin and wants to strike hes probably going to take a nap.Hes lost 2 decisions and like 7 (t)kos (might be off, thats what i remember atm).  His one dec loss against sylvia was arguably one of the most boring mma fights ever.  Personally would rather watch royce butt scoot around after saku for 90 mins than watch that fight again.  His other dec loss was against big foot in a fight i kept expecting arlovski to take a nap in.
I like arlovski and will be happy to be wrong about this fight but i think sergei lands a clean one after getting beat up a bit and arlovski takes a nap.
