Teixeira won the vacant title in an upset last year vs Top Rank undefeated prospect Carlos Adames. It was a great fight. Adames was beating Teixeiras ass!!! Teixeira was dropped, cut and bleeding bad! But, he showed immense heart and Toughness to turn the fight around. Tremendous cardio too! Adames started to slow down a little and Teixeira started to pile it on. He's not a big puncher but he throws in volume and ended up overwhelming Adames, dropping him late and winning a decision.
Castano is good too. He's actually ranked slightly higher than the Champion Teixeira. He was the interim WBA World Champion a couple of years ago and defended a couple of times, a couple of times he went to France and won as the away fighter which is always impressive. He then fought Cuban Erislandy Lara(who I, and many others, think beat Canelo) who is a fantastic fighter. The result was a draw, that many thought he should have won.
Castano is the better boxer but Teixeira has that toughness and non stop cardio, plus he's the defending Champ. Sometimes just becoming a World Champion can increase a fighters confidence that they improve and move up a level

This was a fantastic fight. If you like boxing I am sure you will enjoy. Also it is a chance to find out what Rakhimov is about. I rate him pretty highly, though Jojo Diaz is a high level operator (World Champion, former Olympian) and his toughest test yet I think Rakhimov is gonna show up and take the title.

Anyway!!! Turns out it was a false positive and after proving several negative tests the fight is back on, YAYAYY!!!!!!!
This is actually looking like a real BANGER of a fight card. Hopefully it will still look the same by fight night!

And oh my god that left hand in the Rakhimov vs Fuzile fight that put Fuzile down was outstanding. Really looking forward to what Rakhimov will bring to the ring this weekend, have never watched him before but I am hyped now!! I also came across this Rakhimov highlight video that was a good watch, got me pumped

Yeah, I like Shavkat Rakhimov, been keeping an eye on him for a while now. I really think he's going to give JoJo Diaz a tough fight. He's a finisher too!!!
There's a tonne of dangerous guys that most US boxing fans have never heard of, kinda like MMA with all the dangerous Russians! There is a lot of killers out there!
Teixeira is fun too! He just doesn't stop! Castano is the real deal tho. I love this weekends boxing thr main and Co Main here (Joe Smith vs Vlasov on ESPN included). All very competitive, exciting style match ups! Very rare boxing gives us these kind of fights, nevermind 3 on the same night!!!
My only issue is that I'm gonna need an extra set of eyes! I'll have DAZN on the mobile, UFC on my TV and ESPN on my laptop!!!!

You know it's a close fight when the champion is only a 2:1 favorite in boxing. I'm going with the dog here, Diaz hasn't fought someone coming from the Russian scene before and the stylistic difference might be enough to throw him off.

I am not understanding why Texeira is the underdog here, at all. Does the "0" mean that much to bettors? Same age, but Texeira has a huge reach advantage and has been beating guys with similar records. What am I missing here?

WOW! A point fighter who can bang against a pure knockout artist! Both have great records and haven't been fighting too many bums (at least compared to a lot of other boxers) so this could go either way. I'm gonna hope for a lucky shot and pick Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov to find a late KO.
