Vieira vs. Kunitskaya
Ketlen Vieira, DEC
Ketlen Vieira should win this and she is rightly the favourite but I feel that it's still closer than the odds suggest. It's definitely going the distance though.

Oleinik vs. Daukaus
Alexey Oleinik, DEC
Despite literally all the tape I've watched suggesting otherwise, I've still got a gut feeling that this will go the distance. That seems like an odd pick as Chris Daukaus is very capable of knocking people out and Alexey Oleinik is a very capable wrestler. I think if the fight is gonna finish early then it will most likely be through a KO for Daukaus but despite Oleinik being knocked out in his last fight against Derrick Lewis, I just can't see him getting knocked out again. Maybe it's because there is no way that Daukaus is on Lewis's level so I can sort of understand why my gut is saying he won't find a knockout in this one but at the same time, I still have doubts over Daukaus's gas tank so I think that maybe he will use up all his energy in the first half of the fight and then Oleinik will use his superior experience control the rest of the fight and get a decision win but like I said, this pick is just a gut feeling and there isn't really any logic or reason to it. So to conclude one of the most incoherent rambles in the history of written language, I have absolutely no ******* clue whatsoever.

Tom Aspinall should not be a -260 favorite, he should be around -145 or something like that based on the fact that Andrei has beaten two prospects already recently.  If Tom doesn't get the knockout then what happens then?  He can get outpointed to a decision by Arlovski.

A young, relatively unknown fighter should not be a heavy favorite ever.  Trust me, I think Tom Aspinall is a great fighter and he should be rightfully favored but he's fighting a veteran back on the rise.  I am amazed when I look at Andrei's fighting history, he has fought literally everybody who has ever been elite in MMA heavyweight history.

Arlovski is one of those fighters that the bookmakers are confused what to do with him.  He keeps winning as an underdog in his past few fights, there's no reason not to put 1 unit on him here too.  And if your feeling confident, you can put half a unit on him by decision as well.

@depmode33 I cannot agree more on your comment on Arlovsky.  I don’t think these veterans are still training with the intention to lose. I dare say Derrick Lewis has a game plan and he’s no slouch either. These are intelligent guys and are still performing.

Minner vs. Rosa
Darrick Minner, SUB, R1
Here's a fun fact, Minner is technically a white belt, mostly because he's kind of a rebel about putting on a gi and he trains at Gracie gyms. But when he would train in Vegas a few years ago before the passing of Follis (RIP), the 10th planet guy at Xtreme Couture tried to give him his brown belt immediately after rolling with him. Minner is as legit as they come on the ground, he's a bit of a hothead in the cage and puts the submission over position and has paid for that a lot. But in terms of ATTACK grappling, there are few people in the world better. The cons of this style: 1.) It consumes a TON of energy 2.) it leaves you open for counter attacks. The pros of this style: 1.) Nobody is safe 2.) it's fun as **** to watch. CAN Rosa win, sure maybe, but that blackbelt ain't keeping his neck safe from a dog like Minner, especially now that Minner is fulltime at this **** training at Glory instead of with bums like me and the other local guys. I expect to see improvements everywhere from him, but ultimately Minner knows where his bread is buttered and after rocking Rosa with a switch stance blitz, I think he grabs that long neck and takes it home and collects the 50Gs he deserved in his last outing.

Shhh Fisty, let me dream. Also they have very different styles, so there's a chance. Just like how Jordan Griffin subbed TJ Brown in a hail mary comeback despite having absolutely no right to get the better of Brown on paper.

Yeah, this is a strange but really underrated card. Any of the bouts from 6-13 could be a potential FotN not to mention Skelly vs Emmers.

Personally I think Erosa and Landwehr get it, just because Landwehr doesn't fight any other kind of way and I think Erosa will oblige him.

yes i was eyeing Erosa vs Landwehr as FOTN

Not a lot of big favourites too which will make for a lot of hard picks and a lot of differences between fellow  Tapologists.

Daukaus v Oleinik

Predictions: 4 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 300 Points   |   Tied for 2083rd

It’s no secret that Oleinik is going to come out looking to clinch and get the fight to the ground. In his last five fights (excluding the one against Werdum), the story has been can he get the fight to the ground and finish it before his opponent can stop him with strikes. Unfortunately, the answer has mostly been no. Overeem’s knees were too powerful, Walt Harris was too explosive, and Derrick Lewis was just too much to handle. Oleinik found success against Maurice Greene, but Greene doesn’t have the speed or explosiveness, or frankly the strength of the other three. Oleinik has been KO’d 8 times in his career, but half of those have come in the last three and half years, which tells me that he’s probably getting more susceptible to the KO as he gets up there in age. Still, he’s capable of getting the fight where he wants it. He managed to get a scarf hold on Lewis, despite losing, and pulled Overeem to the mat 15 seconds into their fight. He was also able to back Overeem to the fence and land some good body shots before eating a full buffet of knees. Daukaus has pretty good movement and fast hands, both of which give Oleinik trouble. He also has good elbows from inside the guard and he’s pretty relentless once he tags his opponent. He did get clinched up in his fight against Parker Porter (which he doesn’t want to do against Oleinik), but he had quick and powerful strikes there as well. They’re pretty identical in size, which Oleinik should appreciate since lately he’s been fighting dudes that are either taller or heavier or both. Daukaus will have the speed advantage, however. My concern with Oleinik is how he’ll get the fight to the mat. Against Overeem and Lewis, he got there but he did so by pulling guard and then went looking for the sweep. Daukaus stays busy in the guard, and every shot that lands on Oleinik gets him closer to going out. Oleinik also closes distance with big and slow looping punches. Against a guy with Daukaus’ movement and speed, that’s really dangerous. Against Daukaus I ask again, can Oleinik get the fight to the ground and finish it before Daukaus can stop him with strikes. With all the ways that Daukaus can hit Oleinik, I’m leaning towards no. Daukaus, first round KO.
