 On November 27, 2020, in Thailand, the WBC minimum division world champion, 35-year-old Thai boxer Chayaphon Moonsri 54 (18) -0-0 will defend his title against WBC No. 5, 29-year-old compatriot Panya Pradabsri 34 (22 ) -1 (0) -0. In October 2019, Chayaphon Moonsri defeated Simfive Konko, held 13 title defenses and announced his retirement a few months later. Shortly before his retirement, the champion entered into a co-promotional agreement with Golden Boy. On April 25, 2020, he was scheduled to debut in the American ring in a fight with Marco John Rementiso, No. 10 WBC. The plans were disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Chayaphon Moonsri announced his retirement, but soon sent a letter to the WBC and returned to champion duties. Pradabsri spent all his fights in Asia. It remained active during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Thanks to the success in the fight with the Filipino Jerry Tomogdan, the ex-rival of Chayaphon Moonsri, Panya entered the top 5 on the WBC line.

So what to expect in battle? Two right-handers. Pradabsri surpasses the opponent in height (by 4 centimeters) and in arm span (by 3 centimeters). Panya has a higher level of boxing than the 3 extreme counterparts of Chayaphon Moonsri. He poses a threat to the champion, but he will need to jump over his head and hope for underestimation from his compatriot. The undefeated Chayaphon Moonsri returns to the ring after the biggest hiatus of his career (13 months). If successful, he will have the opportunity to make his debut fight in the American ring. Probably, in the next fight, he will still face Marco John Rementiso, and in the future his fight with Tammanun Nyomtrong, better known as Knockout CP Freshmart, the WBA world champion is possible. To achieve these goals, Chayaphon Moonsri will have to confirm his status for the 14th time.

City Hall Ground, Nakhonsawan, Thailand. In the main event of the evening, local long-term WBC lightweight champion Vanheng Menayotin (54-1, 18 KOs) lost to compatriot Pan Pradabsri (35-1, 22 KOs).

The champion took the center of the ring, boxed with a jab, but forgot to break the distance after the attack, which the challenger constantly used - he brightly countered with a left hook on the body. Nice starting round from Pradabsri - he threw up his hands victoriously after the bell.

Menayotin increased the speed and pace of the fight and immediately took possession of a tangible advantage - he shook his opponent several times, confused him with combination work and an excellent arsenal of strikes. In response, Panya amusingly cut the air with his fists, fell over to flop, and after the gong he raised his hands again just in case.

The challenger struck suspiciously often (by accident?) Below the belt, for which he received a comment from the referee - so far without penalty points. Obviously, raising his hands victoriously after each round is part of his battle plan. Pradabsri's punches were much heavier, and Menayotin acted much more technically and varied. The problem for the senior champion was the need to periodically take breaks - it was lucky that the challenger worked as number two.

Realizing that the fight was close, Menayotin increased the density of the fight several times - the fighters from time to time pleased the fans with the brightest swing at the middle distance. The challenger's blows to the body began to take their toll. After the 8th round, the judges unanimously took Pradabrsi ahead - three times 75-77. Controversial ...

Menayotin still increased the density of the fight, but it did not look very effective, since he could not maintain a high tempo for the entire round - he often failed the second half of three minutes. The fight went all the way and turned out to be just excellent!
