The only way I'd describe this fight is a "calculated step up" in competition for Haney. On paper this would be the biggest name on his resume, but looking at it deeper this is a fight that Haney should win. Gamboa is 38, coming off a loss, and suffered from an injury. Where Ryan Garcia gets Luke Campbell, Devin Haney gets Yuriorkis Gamboa. It's up to you to decide who's taking on the tougher opponent, but it looks like if these two pass these tests they are set on a collision course for one another. Haney by UD.

This fight is a good example of what I have spent half of today ranting about!!! THE WBC and their ********!!!! Haney is the WBC World Lightweight Champion and he didn't even have to beat anyone to get it! Lomachenko was made "Franchise" Champion and Haney was handed the "real" title. Even though Loma vs Teofimo was for undisputed!!! Apparently someone can be undisputed champion even though someone else is called the WBC champion. What a load of pish!!!! Then, even better, who does Haney fight for the 1st defence of the belt he was handed??? Maybe someone decent to prove that he actually is worthy of being called champion. Maybe the no. 1 WBC contender??? No, what about no. 2, no. 3,4,5?? Still nobody, OK how about a top 20 guy?? No takers??? OK, how's about a guy who's prime years were in 2010, someone who's been KO'd each time he lost, hasn't beaten anyone relavent in over 5 years and, this sealed the deal folks! He was absolutely beaten up and KO'd in his last fight!!! Perfect man for a World Title fight!!!!! Jeeeeeeessuuuussssss!!!!!! Only thing more embarrassing than that is if Haney doesn't KO Gamboa inside 6 rounds. Actually, more embarrassing will be when Haney wins and gets on the Mic claiming that win proves he is the best 135er on the planet!!!!

Hrgovic is a Heavyweight who is going to be breaking into the top 5 in the next year, possibly a future champion. Of all the Heavyweights on the cusp of breaking into the top 10 Hrgovic is the guy. Booker isn't great but he is a very awkward fighter, never been KO'd and he's been up against some good guys. So Hrgovic will be making a statement if he finishes Booker. I think he will but he will be made to work for it and taken into the later rounds for the 1st time.
Vargas vs. Zhang

Man, this guy Zhang. I don't know about him??? He is a big star in China apparently??? Medalled at the Beijing Olympics. But his professional career has been meh!!! Plus he's 37. I see him getting spectacularly KO'd way before he fights a legit top 25 Heavyweight. Vargas, though a decent boxer(an Olympian himself) is too chinny to be the guy to stop the Zhang hype before it starts. Maybe we get an upset, I'm not banking on it tho

Mati is the best of the young prospects on the card tonight. I expect him to get another nice finish here

I just said Mati is the best of the young prospects but Arthur is very good too. He is 1 of the group of Russians who made a new home in Toronto. A great group, lead by no.1 Light Heavyweight Beterbiev, also Oganisyan, Ziyatdinov. Good group of boxers. Biyarslanov has that nice technical Eastern Bloc boxing and some solid power to go with it. Another future contender
