Small new feature now available. If there is another user that is annoying you, "triggering" you, or whatever, you can now optionally:
- Block them from DMing/commenting on your page
- Have their posts hidden when reading forum threads
To use the feature, just visit the profile page of any user. To the right of their username will be a gear icon allowing you to modify your "relationship" with that user.
Hope this helps reduce some of the friction when there is known bad blood.

To be clear the reason I don't want anyone I regularly talk **** with to become a mod is because as soon as you take that role, you become a desk clerk.

I actually did have mod powers at a site when I ran the Lettuce League. I only used my powers for good. Good for me and my entertainment that is. Harmless fun for the most part. Though a few butts may or may not have been hurt.

It's all jokes fish. If greg was really dumb enough to make me moderator I'd try to ban him first!

Being a mod sucks, really. I've done it twice. Once was for a Gardening forum (yes, I **** you not) and that was as bad as the other one, which was a guitar forum. I am of the belief that there is literally no subject in existence that human beings can discuss without ensuing ****fights and interpersonal conflict in large numbers.

I actually feel bad for Greg, because he has to make sure everyone is playing nice with the toys literally every ******* card. Like, he never gets to just sit back and not think about anything else apart from the fights.

@fish I don't think that's accurate. He probably gets alerts on his smartphone when someone hits the report button. I'm sure it's not as horrible as u think.

On a site like this, the most important thing for a moderator to be is to be able to tell the difference between:
A) Playful banter
B) A heated but legitimate discussion
C) Genuine bullying
From what I've seen so far, all of the clashes have fallen into the first two categories. I haven't seen any proper bullying yet which, for an MMA site, is very refreshing. A large part of that is due to Gregory having a very good sense of humor and being able to read between the lines of comments.
@ImperatorFishrat I mentioned your discussion with Gregory in the Stats thread but that one falls somewhere between category A and B. It was obvious there was never any bad blood between you and Gregory. I was just using that as an example because it was refreshing to see a discussion like that end peacefully and not dissolve into a pathetic fight like it would've on a lot of other sites.

@ Greg, I also have noticed the site loads about 25% slower then normal. Is this due to the new update/features maybe?

@hippie no, it's not related to the new features. it's due to high traffic levels for this weekend's card.

@fish yes in evaluating that part of the forum, I decided to leave those bits "unblocked" as it would have otherwise added several other complications to how this was designed.
