Bonnar has called out Rampage and Rampage texted Dana saying he wanted the fight.. Dana said the usual "we'll see what happens". But what do you guys think about this fight?.. I think Rampage would take a relatively easy UD.

Rampage by easy UD as well.  I just don't see how Bonnar could win.

I don't think Bonnar could handle the shots that Rampoage would hit him with

I don't think the fight makes sense at all.  Now is the time for Page/Shogun re-match.

I agree @kalibo but maybe if this fight happens then we get Shogun vs Thiago?

Rampage just fought for the title.  I like Bonnar, but he doesn't deserve that fight yet.  Thiago scheduled to fight?  I think Bonnar/Thiago makes a bit more sense.

Yeah he doesn't but sometimes calling people out gets you a fight.  No he's not scheduled yet but hopefully soon.. Yeah I was thinking Bonnar or maybe Bader. But I think they could do Bonnar/Bader.

It's a fun fight, but something like Shogun-Rampage II makes more sense.

Bonnar/Bader is a good idea, and Shogun-Rampage II would make alot of japanese fans happy too, i guess. since they wanted Rampage to fight on that card over there.

Bonnar/Bader would actually be pretty awesome! Shogun/Rampage would be sick. Its whether Shogun will be recovered by UFC Japan.

I think Shogun should take at least 6 months off.  What happened to him last night did not look healthy.

I doubt Shogun could recover by UFC 144, how about Muhammed Lawal vs Rampage?

thank you, they've been trash talking each other lately. And I figured it'd draw quite the amount of people since King Mo fought half of his career in Saitama I believe (correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm generally curious to see if any of these fighters or matchups generate interest in Japan. The MMA industry is in such a depressed state over there that I wonder how many fans have moved on.

Rampage vs Lawal is a compelling matchup though.

I love both of them, but I think Rampage would take it.

I don't think MMA will ever die in Japan, with Martial Arts being such an integral part of their culture. It's just "temporarily resting".

i am starting to become more of a fan of bonnars after watching more of his fights and watching him get better, i dont think he would beat jackson but i would love to see it happen but i think a bonnar vs bader/thiago makes sense and right now is the perfect time to do rampage vs shogun 2 that would be so awesome

Bonar was smart fighting last night. He and Rampage has potential to be a solid fight, I feel Bonnar will be the underdog but I wouldn't count him out. Might be worth a bet given Bonnnar pulling the upset would e worth profit.

I think Rampage would get the finish early. I don't really feel Bonnar could hang with the top guys.

To be honest i am still really hoping to see Rampage fight someone from PRIDE (preferably Ricardo Arona) in Japan

Call me crazy, but I think this is a very smart move on Stephan Bonnar's part. Stephan is a very intelligent person.

He calls out Rampage, who he knows does not back down from a fight. If a challenge is presented to Rampage, he won't back down. Bonnar's on a 3 fight win streak and Dana and the UFC have stated before that Bonnar will always have a job in the UFC, so he's in no danger of losing his job. Bonnar has improved in his last 3 wins.. granted, they weren't against Top 10 (or even Top 15) opponents, but he has been looking better.

So, Bonnar calls out Rampage. What does he have to lose? Nothing. If he loses against Rampage. Big deal, he lost against one of the best. Maybe he wants to test himself. He has a bit more freedom in the UFC than most fighters do. Now.. if he were to score the major upset over Rampage, then he would be a candidate for a Top 10 light heavyweight, and could possibly put him on the ladder towards the title. Sure, he would still need a few more fights before that came along, but it would at least put him on that ladder.

He has nothing to lose and everything to gain from calling out Rampage. With all that being said, I got Rampage via one sided decision.
