I've said it before in my 20s I would have taken a beating for a years salary of course rare long term injury aside its easy money.

The epic thing was that they used real crocodiles for this scene and was done by Ross Kananga who owned the crocodile farm!

I'm pretty sure that the producers behind the films had a policy that stunts must be done for real wherever possible or at least that was the case back in the early 70's when this was filmed. Nowadays they would probably use fake crocs for animal welfare reasons or something or more likely, they would have a hard time trying to find a stuntman with big enough balls to do that.

Yeah, everything's done by CGI these days which is a shame as I prefer to see real stunts. I don't care how realistic it looks because at the end of the day I know I'm watching a movie that is fake so I'm already suspending my disbelief so to me it doesn't matter if it looks realistic or not. For example, this is the death of the main villain in Live and Let Die where they used an inflatable dummy and I much prefer this to any CGI death as it's both epic and indivertibly hilarious!
