Australia isn’t that bad tho when it comes to shark attacks compared to this one place called Reunion Island, little island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, some of the best waves in the world.... 20 attacks 8 fatal since 2011
https://stabmag.com/news/13-year-old-surfer-killed-in-reunion-island-shark-attack/
Couple of pros went there a few months after the attack wearing black and white striped wetsuits anb boards, no shark sightings during their time but I think they just got lucky

Also in that article someone suggests shooting them with a rifle from helicopters, someone who apparently doesn’t know how ballistics work

@Free because they're faster on land than in the water and because of buoyancy. An adult salty is about 20+ feet long and weighs over a tonne. They are un-*******-believably fast over short distances, and they have a nasty habit of exploding out at prey from right at the edge of the water line, where they are all but invisible, their camouflage is superb. One minute you might be sitting at the edge of a river and everything is still and in the next three seconds you've been smashed off you chair and dragged to the bottom.

WOW! I had no idea that crocodiles where THAT big! Or is that one an exception? I've never seen one in real life so I don't know. My only knowledge of them comes from watching Steve Irwin documentaries when I was a kid.

It takes a long time for them to get that big. They're a long-lived animal,anywhere between 70-100 years.

I've just googled his family and crikey, Bindi is so cute! Also, Robert is just like his dad! Terri has done such a good job of raising them, it's incredible! Steve would be so proud!

@ImperatorFishrat

I remember Steve Irwin saying something about crocodiles living long lives but I didn't know they got that big. If I remember correctly, his shows regularly featured a crocodile called Graham who was pretty big!

@NickySwaz

I've never heard of that movie but I'll add it to my watchlist!
