Making me nervous Tap.

Predictions: 4 of 5 Winners, 2 Perfect, 265 Points   |   Tied for 101st

I had all my picks, other than the main event, opposite to the Tap votes. I expected them to even out or flip like last weeks contender. But they’ve just gotten more and more polar lol. If the odds come out like the tap picks I’m gonna be either really happy or really sad come Tuesday.

Pyfer vs. Stoltzfus
Dustin Stoltzfus, SUB, R2
I can see why this is the main event and I think it's a lot closer than what tapology seems to think. Both are solid all-around fighters. My thing with Dustin though is that he leaves his chin open a bit too much, which the rangey striker in Pyfer could capitalize on. Though I suspect Dustin is the better grappler of the two and I think that'll be the deciding factor, plus most of the guys Pyfer's fought seem to be kind of **** so It's hard to tell how he'll cope with his toughest opponent by far

Yanez vs. Huang
Adrian Yanez, TKO, R1
I'm suuuuper looking forward to seeing Yanez. This guy is an excellent boxer with pretty decent grappling. His ko over Rodriguez is absolutely brutal. Haven't managed to find much on Huang other than his tko loss to Martin Day in which he looked only ok up until the finish, the quality of his record isn't great either. He'll have the size advantage but I don't think that'll be enough

Demopoulos vs. McKenna
Vanessa Demopoulos, SUB, R2
McKenna is scrappy af and will likely bring on the pressure, though she has a tendency to often get caught in bad spots. I think Demopoulos has the submission skills to put her away. I also don't think I could pick someone who has a decision loss to Di Segni

Laramie vs. Swain
T.J. Laramie, DEC
Swain is dangerous on his back and T.J knows it. Despite that it seems that T.J is the stronger grappler of the two and will likely stuff any attempt for Swain to head to the ground. While his striking is a little sloppy, tends to go for too many overhands, T.J should have the advantage there as well. My only thing is that Swain has definitely fought stronger competition over at M1 so I wouldn't be surprised if he's able to catch him with something.

Adams vs. Kasanganay
Impa Kasanganay, DEC
Impa should already be in the ufc in the first place, had a fantastic performance first time around. Adams doesn't seem that bad though, but seems a little green in his striking

i watche demopoulos take a beating from sam hughes for 4 1/2 rounds. she was busted up and bleeding but showed no quit at all. when the fight finally went to the ground she put hughes to sleep, out cold. i'll take demopoulos by 2nd round sub.

Predictions: 4 of 5 Winners, 2 Perfect, 265 Points   |   Tied for 101st

Demopoulos vs. McKenna
Cory McKenna, DEC
I'm going against the flow here. I think both of these girls have good UFC potential in all reality, I just think that McKenna has a good enough awareness to stifle the game plan of Demopoulos. There will always be that threat of a submission from the bottom, but I think we might see a horizontal version of what happened between Kunitskaya and Stoliarenko just last night (as of writing this). There is a lot of close fights on this card, at least closer than the odds indicate, but this is a close fight due to the massive amount of unknowns on both sides. Two young fighters who I would not say are "quite" ready for the straw-weight division, being as stacked as it is, but both will likely get there at some point.

Laramie vs. Swain
Daniel Swain, SUB, R2
TJ Laramie is a fun stocky fighter. Watching his tape as he's progressed through the years, he has that age old story of a wrestler who fell in love with their hands. He's very good at blitzing forward, but a two to three bunch type of striker. I will say he keeps his gas tank in good reserve which could prove to earn him the win against Swain. But I just don't see this as his fight at all. Daniel Swain was a weird fighter to research, I saw him against Julian Erosa when I was picking Erosa vs. Woodson (easy money that one), and I really like him. He has some losses to good opponents (Erosa, Alex da Silva, Viktor Kolensik), but those all came a while ago, and if you really watch he takes a lot of these guys to school for moments. I mean he really humiliated Alex Da Silva for one round, but just blew his wad trying to get him out of there. Now since those two bad losses he seems to have matured in the cage a bit while fighting lower tier competition mostly. But I know the caliber of Alex da Silva and Swain made him look like a child for 5 minutes. I gotta think as long as the cardio hold, Swain wins this one any way he wants.

Yanez vs. Huang
Adrian Yanez, TKO, R2
Yanez is a crisp MMA boxer. He can recycle his punches and uses an energy wasting counter grappling game. But both of these serve him well with his style of fighting, an O’Malley type of counter puncher could make him pay for some of his habits. But Huang has nothing for him that I can see, all the tape on Huang makes me see why he lost to his one big step up in competition (a natty flyweight). Yanez needs to polish some habits but he has the precursory skills, and definitely has the power, to survive in the UFC. Huang? Not so much.

I think this is an excellent week of the Contender Series! Really, really interesting fights and prospects. I actually think the main event is the weakest fight. I don't think Pyfer is all that good and I've literally never seen Stoltzfus.

Didn't Kasangay almost get the contract last year but Dana said "go get yourself more experience then come back kid". Well, he's back, but he aint had 1 single fight since!!!! So, what happens if he wins, which I expect him to, has he now all of a sudden got the required experience??

The first lines just dropped for this week of DWCS. Some decent odds, they kind of came down how I thought. Swain is a juicy underdog rn though, but lets see if that lasts.

Hughes looked to be slowly grinding to a win during that fight, however Demopolous was game and looked dangerous. How many other chick fights go 4 or 5 rounds? The greek won in the 4th, otherwise she would have lost decision. She has some serious moxie and better jui jujitsu than her up and coming peers it seems, not sure her belt. She is sitting -130

Interesting tap on Huang, Yanez sits -300

I see Laramie -300 and Dustin -200 at BOL
