In that sense I agree with both of you. Like, I've gone under 1.5 pounds not including the allowance. And that's only because I had to drive to weigh ins from my gym where I cut and I didn't take off my plastics. How he went 2.5 under (3.5 with the allowance) is weird to me. Unless he walks at 182.5, which I don't believe on any given day in hell considering guys with Covington or Masvidal type build walk heavier than that. So I don't know if maybe he was cutting with someone else and stayed in for support, or he just had a bad scale. But it's strange.

Its Time!

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 390 Points   |   Tied for 2127th

Don't follow my advice because after all this is the fight game.

Lewis vs. Oleinik
Alexey Oleinik, SUB, R1
Logic tells me Lewis will KO Oleneik, but Oleinik has been looking good his last fights and I think he is shooting for his last shot at greatness - I mean hes like 46 or something right? Also hes looking for his 60th pro win and Lewis is a big name so I think hes gonna look hard for the sub and get it. On paper though Lewis should win this one. Its a toss up either Lewis by 1st Rnd TKO or Alexey by 1st Rnd Sub. Going for the old codger.

Weidman vs. Akhmedov
Omari Akhmedov, TKO, R1
Just follow the trajectory on this one. Easiest perfect of the Century. Sorry Weidman.

Stewart vs. Pitolo
Darren Stewart, DEC
Pitolo had a big moment last fight but I don't see him knocking out Stewart who has never been knocked out before. But never say never. Stewart by decision.

Kunitskaya vs. Stoliarenko
Stoliarenko, SUB, R1 via Armbar
Stoliarenko has a crazy amount of arm bar subs in her record and shes gonna look for it again. Rolling the dice on this one.

Dariush vs. Holtzman
Beneil Dariush, SUB, R1
Beneil is on a roll and hes gonna roll through Holtzman.

Means vs. Staropoli
Staropoli, DEC
I am rooting for Tim Means but logic tells me to choose the new talent.

Haqparast vs. Munoz
Haqparast, TKO, R3
Haqparast is a banger and if he has worked on his TDD the I think he turns the lights out.

Sanchez vs. Turman
Turman by DECAndrew has had the tougher fights but I think Turman takes it.

Jaynes vs. Tucker
Tucker by DEC
Justin Jaynes got the big TKO last fight but can he do it again? I think tucker is just a more all round fighter and will take this to a decision.

Zalal vs. Barrett
Youssef Zalal, SUB, R3Zalal has been looking really sharp lately. He was looking for the finish in his last one as far as I remember, so I think hes gonna get it this time.

Al Qaisi vs. Rivera
Irwin Rivera, DEC
Rivera has a lot of fight in him. Just watch his last one and you will know what I am talking about. Al qaisi making a debut.

Lot's of great match ups, I'm hoping for some spectacular finishes because I'm not so confident in some of these.

The Dominick fight showed where his chin is at, and it's done, IMO. We know Dominick hits hard, but like a fool Weidman moved forward, got clipped, and went out with hammerfists quite easily.

Almost Jardine level in that fight.

Anyone who is not in the top 10 at MW would be KO by those guy...

@hyrm i understand the point you're trying to make but hes 1-5 in his last 6. Anyone besides BJ Penn that is grounds for your walking papers. Who else is 1-5 in their last 6 and is still in the UFC let alone still fighting top competition until this fight? He's literally riding the Silva wave and that's the only reason hes still here. Weidman has BELLATOR written all over him.

Holy sh*t, Alexei came in 227 again. Damn that's a small heavyweight. Still gonna pick him though, because Lewis coming in at 265 sends bad vibes, I have only bet on small Lewis.

Can't think of the last time both fighters missed weight. But Staropoli and Means both come in over.
Edit: means made weight on his second attempt.

@hideff
is win was againts a top 10 MW.
Weidman is1-5 in last 6 because he was gived the hardest possible fight

If Masvidal had fought Usman, Covington, Edwards after is 2 lost to Maia & Thompson he would have been 0-5

Its probably a last chance fight for Weidman but I think he deserve to be here.

Yes, he didn't just get beat up by some randoms. The problem is he's getting knocked out in those losses, and brutally.

The war he had with Jacare was his chin saying 'I'm done with this'

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 440 Points   |   Tied for 1742nd

Lewis vs. Oleinik
Derrick Lewis, TKO, R4
alexey is probably gonna set the pace after lewis throws his early jumping switch kick and proceeds to get pushed against the fence for a bit while he recovers. in 3 rounds, i think boa could take a decision, but 5 rounds i'm expecting some derrick lewis late round freak explosion.

Weidman vs. Akhmedov
Omari Akhmedov, TKO, R2
just gonna pick worst case scenario here and say that anything else is a positive.

Stewart vs. Pitolo
Darren Stewart, DEC
part of me wants to say that maki can make stewart uncomfortable with his pressure striking, but i can't put too much weight into the byrd win so i'll say stewart's experience allows him to avoid the big shots while still returning.

Kunitskaya vs. Stoliarenko
Yana Kunitskaya, DEC
what a fight julija had with verzosa. very entertaining, but indicative of what happens when she can't establish dominant ground position. i think yana can more easily defuse the ensuing brawl with her technical striking, assuming she can stay off her back and out of guard.

Dariush vs. Holtzman
Beneil Dariush, DEC
definitely feel like beneil can win this wherever it goes, but holtzman is gonna be hard to take down, so if it's a finish then i think it'd be ko, but i'm gonna go decision since that's how all of scott's losses have come.

Means vs. Staropoli
Laureano Staropoli, DEC
i like watching tim means, but he's so inconsistent, so i'll say staropoli wins an outside fight.

Holland vs. Buckley
Kevin Holland, SUB, R2
respect to this dude for stepping in and up in weight, but i think kevin holland is a bad matchup. doesn't look like buckley wants to wrestle and i think that's exactly what holland is gonna pursue.

Haqparast vs. Munoz
Alex Munoz, DEC
i'm very curious about a 6-0 alphamale product that's already 30. gotta think he's already used to being in there with a guy like josh emmett so i'm expecting him to be surprisingly competent standing. if he can get inside and grapple then we might see an upset.

Sanchez vs. Turman
Andrew Sanchez, DEC
sanchez always looks great in r1, the question is will he gas to the point that he gets outgrappled after? i'll say no, this time.

Jaynes vs. Tucker
Justin Jaynes, TKO, R2
i like jaynes here too. we've seen that he can go in there fearless and choi isn't enough of a measuring stick for me to think tucker can handle effective pressure.

Zalal vs. Barrett
Youssef Zalal, SUB, R2
not super impressed by barrett's competition, thinking zalal should control the striking, but gonna say he shows off his ground game a bit if barrett gets hurt or desperate.

Al Qaisi vs. Rivera
Irwin Rivera, TKO, R2
totally possible that ali comes in and grinds it out, but having never seen him fight it's hard to say. seems bigger than rivera, but i guess i'll still go with what seems to be the more potent striker.
