Roberson vs. Vettori
Karl Roberson, TKO, R2

Fun fact you might not know about : Karl Robertson fought French K1 legend Jérôme Le banner in a kickboxing match in 2015 and... lost.
But he should have won.
Let me explain.
At the time Le Banner was 42 years old, and fighting in his homecountry, beautiful France, for his retirement fight (he fought again after that, but you know how retirement works for most fighters...). The local organization (Fight Night Saint Tropez) offered Le Banner a very favorable fight that would look like a tough fight: Karl Robertson was a young, tall, fresh, athletic american kickboxer with speed, youth and power, but it was also HIS PRO DEBUT ON SHORT NOTICE ! Le Banner was old and rusty as hell, but he had a HUGE experience advantage (80-22 at the time, in a Hall of fame kickboxing career, 6-0 in boxing, 4-3 in MMA...), having defeated the likes of Mark Hunt (three times!), Ernesto Hoost (two times!), Peter Aerts, Tyrone Spong, Gary Goodridge (two times), Rémy Bonjasky, Cyrill Abidi, Sam Greko, Stefan Leko, Bernardo, etc, in a trully amazing career... his only loss in 10 last fights being a vaillant losing effort in a decision to legend Sergei Kharitonov (!).
So Le Banner wasn't anywhere near his prime, but still very powerfull and Dangerous (and maybe using all kinds of suppléments). He managed to easily won 4 rounds of the 5 rounds fight, until Karl Robertson finally knoked him down. The (French) referee clearly waited a LOOOOOONNNNG time before starting to count the knock down. Le Banner wasn't completely out cold, so he eventually managed to get up before the referee counted to 10, but it was honestly 30 seconds after the knockdown and should have been a clean KO win for Robertson. Instead, Le Banner survived to win a very controversial decision. Even the french crowd wasn't very pleased about. Hell, I'm french myself and I hated it.
So, voilà. I don't know if knocking out a 42 years old legend on short notice in a heavyweight Kickboxing debut fight he lost in 2015 in France has anything to do with fighting a middleweight in MMA in 2020, but hey if you don't know, now you know !
Have a Bonne journée everybody, et au revoir.

I could see Teixeira with the upset, I really do, but I gotta play it safe. Smith is known as the old man killer for a reason

St. Preux vs. Rothwell
Ovince St. Preux, DEC
I hope OSP can transition well to heavyweight. Rothwell is a big mofo

Arlovski vs. Lins
Philipe Lins, TKO, R2
UFC is using Arlovski as a stepping stone... guaranteed wont win a decision even if he deserves it. Been on the wrong end of some controversial decisions, especially against Sakai.

Dober vs. Hernandez
Alexander Hernandez, DEC
As much as people love to hate Hernandez, you cant deny his talent. Before Cowboy he looked fantastic. 50/50 fight

Roberson vs. Vettori
Marvin Vettori, DEC
Good test to see to prove Vettori is the real deal. He has the hype and the talent. Lets see if he can pull it off

Johnson vs. Moisés
Michael Johnson, DEC
If he loses another split decision I might lose my sh**

I'm really happy Chase Sherman is back in the UFC, after his little run in bare knuckle ! His win over Coulter was amazing to watch, win or lose he's always exciting to watch and seems like a really nice and funny dude.

Odd they’re signing Sherman technically off a loss, but he deserves to be back. Never thought I’d see Villanueva in the UFC, especially at heavyweight.
