Well, UFC 249 fell through, as did the next few weeks of fights.

As everyone knows Dana says fight Island is real and will be up sometime soon. I'm guessing May if this is actually going to happen.

What do people here think?

Will it happen? If so, when do you think it will happen?

Will Disney and/or ESPN step in again and give it the thumbs down?

I doubt it. He ain't risking the ESPN deal , and ESPN ain't saying yes anytime soon. The commissions as well I think would forbid it too!

Only thing Dana wants..is to stay relevant ..it’s all about him ... not the fighters or the fans.

@free he got 249 cleared with the ABC, could go down in America Canada or Tribal Land, If the governor of California didn’t ***** to Disney then we would have fights next weekend. Can’t stop people from pooping in the streets of San Francisco but can stop an event happening in a place where he has no jurisdiction, color me confused

Although he got cleared by ABC and although this Island is not on American soil, Im starting to think no matter where its to be held that disney/ESPN will not want any part of it because it could be a possible PR nightmare.

So unless the UFC decides to go above ESPN and holds it exclusively on fight pass, I don't think ESPN will broadcast it.

Therefore I think the Island option is not going to happen.

If the fighters and all personnel test negative then there is no reason not to have the fight

I think Dana would absolutley take the risk, but would disney/ESPN be on board is a whole other animal

I think they will have a couple of "Fight Island" events at some point this year.

But then I have a hunch that Dana White will try to bring back TUF and re-brand it as "Fight Island"
