Been thinking about MMA a lot during the quarantine, and I got to thinking about Kamaru Usman. I was wondering, who can beat him? Strikers like Masvidal and Edwards would more than likely get grapple-******, BJJ practitioners like RDA and Maia were handled easily, whats it gonna take to beat him? The only people I can see beating him are Colby and Gilbert Burns. Gilbert could do it because he is a consummate grappler with very good stand-up which may be a winning combo against Usman.

Who do you guys think might beat him?

and the problem I have with any BJJ guy beating him is for the most part all the black belts in the UFC once taken down just accept being down there cause its comfortable to them and they are confident in their guard game. Then they just end up getting controlled for the most part while attempting subs all round. Frustrates me soo much to watch

im not sure Lima could beat Leon Edwards. IMO if he was to come to the UFC he wouldn't even be top 5 WW

Actually I might pick Lima to beat Edwards. He's a bad style for him. We'll they're both bad for one another.

Another paper champ..

Yeah he beat a stoned or drunk tyrone who is arguably the worst ww champ ever.
And he outlasted and beat colby who I gave a slight edge too, but neither are finishers.
That being said "Anyone" with decent striking at 170 can beat him Ken Vs Kimo or Jorge Vs Ben for the newbs.
Every fight starts standing I believe Jon would beat him in a dull grapple off but hes getting old.
Lima is an excellent fantasy pick has power and plenty of defense and offense in grappling.
Personally Id like to see my boy robbie explode him but hes been robbed few times and out of the mix for tops.
Leon is ok he could do it but the problem is Usman is kinda a little low rent JJones he rises to opposition.
So a lesser known and less documented foe will be his undoing unless ive missed something he wont last.
Or hey maybe GSP get his IBS under control and splats him and reretires :>.

i can see the ww belt changing hands a few times kinda quickly. even though woodley **** the bed big time i would seriously consider picking woodley in a rematch. thats prolly not going to be a popular statement. but honestly who has he beat besides woodley and covington? maia and rda are great names to have on your resume but lets be honest, both are way past their prime. maia is looking for a gimme fight to retire on and rda is on the back side slope as well, prolly gate keeper status now. i would give jorge a 50-50 shot. burns, edwards and lima all would be interesting fights. personally i think lima is prolly the best ww in the world right now.

@josh Twood has 12 finishes in 19 wins and you could make that 13 in 20 if wonderboy wasn’t able to hold on to concousness when he was in that guillotine. But he’s not a finisher.

But woodley just looked so bad in the first fight. I can't see a second being much different.

I don't think Woodley cares TBH. Pretty sure he's checked out to some degree post-Usman.
