Usman vs. Masvidal
Kamaru Usman, DEC
I’m going to go with the rather popular pick. Look, Jorge Masvidal really has his hands full here. 6 days notice fighting a guy who mauls people and is a beast on the ground. I don’t really see Jorge being able to keep a guy like Usman off of him but I have been wrong in the past. Usman has very powerful hands but if he doesn’t get this fight to the ground he will be getting knocked out as Masvidal is a sniper on the feet. Masvidal has beautiful kicks, phenomenal timing, and powerful hands and Kamaru is a big stiff on the feet throwing powerful yet predictable right hands. I think Burns has a better chance against Usman than Jorge, but this is still a fun fight. A win-win for Jorge though.

Zaleski vs. Salikhov
Muslim Salikhov, TKO, R2
I’m very sold on Muslim. He has beautiful striking and well set up spinning attacks, and has a lot of power in his hands. Elizeu seems a bit too wild and is very open and throws naked strikes and out of range wheel kicks. He also has power and good jiu jitsu. I’m going with who I think is the better fighter and who I think is the more technical fighter. Stoked for this one.

Amirkhani vs. Henry
Makwan Amirkhani, SUB, R3
I have to watch more tape on Danny. Makwan is a fun fighter to watch with solid grappling and good submission skills. He brutally lost to Shane Burgos but no shame in that. I might change my pick after I study Henry a bit more but for now it is Amirkhani via submission.

Santos vs. Bogatov
Leonardo Santos, SUB, R2
Santos is well rounded and I hope to see him grind out a sub.

Masvidal vs Diaz, want to see it?

Predictions: 9 of 13 Winners, 4 Perfect, 580 Points   |   Tied for 1538th

Masvidal revealed in an interview that if he wins on saturday night, he would like to "repay" Nate Diaz for previously giving him the opportunity to fight for the BMF belt. As we know, it was Diaz who created the whole BMF thing, by calling out Masvidal.

Long story short, do you want to see this fight if Jorge wins? I would prefer Burns, Covington, Edwards or Usman, they are more deserving, but Nate would definitely still be fun.

@Afonso196

I don't think it's going to matter, because I don't think Masvidal is going to win.

always been a nate diaz fan but hes looking shop worn at this point and hardly deserving of a title shot. jorge knows nate is a big draw and it would be a nice payday for him.

Day vs. Grant
Martin Day, TKO, R2
Martin Day has the better striking and his takedown defense didn't look too bad against Liu. If this stays on the feet, I think Day can hurt Grant and finish him via ground and pound or by submission.

Yan vs. Aldo
Petr Yan, TKO, R3
I have to go with Yan in this bout. I think it is telling that the books have the O/U set at 2.5 for this fight. Aldo at 135 just doesn't look in prime shape to me. Yan on the other hand looks to be solidly in his prime right now. It won't be easy but "no mercy" gets the win and the strap. I will say he gets the finish as well. I will be parlaying Yan and Usman on this card as my wagering for UFC 251.

Usman vs. Masvidal
Kamaru Usman, SUB, R4
Masvidal to me seems more interested in money and fame at this point in his career and good for him if he gets his wish. A loss here won't hurt his brand any and he will still draw interest going forward. As far as the fight goes, one thing is certain Usman can go a hard 5 rounds and Masvidal did not have an easy time of the weight cut. I see that as being the difference. Masvidal has to land something early in the first 2 rounds after that its deep waters. Masvidal is a tough out having never been finished in his UFC career but that streak comes to an end in this fight. Usman wears him down and gets a RNC in round 4. And still!!!! This will be the second half of a parlay with Yan for my UFC 251 wager.
